A Black And A Weasley.

Part 12

After the first years got sorted Dumbledore made his announcements.
" First I'm pleased to welcome Mr R.J Lupin who has kindly consented to fill the post of Defence Against The Dark Arts teacher. Good Luck Professor." With that people began clapping for Remus. However Fred, George and myself stood up went completely over the top.
" UNCLE REMUS!" I shouted waving at him. He shook his head gently lightly chuckling. Dumbledores eyes glinted as he quietly shushed us. I smiled widely up at my uncle and he smiled back. Dumbledore then announced that Hagrid would be the new Care for Magical Creatures Professor and all the students clapped ( Gryffindors the loudest ).
" Hogwarts, until further notice will play host to the Dementors of Azkaban. Until such a time as Sirius Black is captured," this is when people started whispering about Sirius Black. My father. It hit me like a knife in the chest. Remus looked over at me sympathetically. I felt small tears prick in my eyes. Then I felt my hand grow warmer. George had picked up my hand giving it a reassuring squeeze. He gently smiled at me and I leant my head on his shoulder. I knew that at least with him and Fred there I would never be alone in this. I haven't even noticed Dumbledore had come to the end of his speech and soon everyone was eating.
" Hey Black, bet you know where Daddy is." A Slytherin said from behind me.
" Yeah, I bet you're going to be helping him into the castle," another whispered.
" Cut it out you lot." Fred told them,
" you should shut up before we make you." George spoke.
" Guys leave it, they're not worth it." I muttered.
" Yeah well neither are you. Not with Daddy getting the Dementors kiss. I'm sure you'll turn out just the same." The first said.
" Shut up!" I snapped.
" Oh I'm sorry have we hit a nerve. Your probably a Daddy's little girl. You'll do anything he asks. Like kill some Mug-" the second Slytherin didn't get to finish his sentence because I had leapt from my seat and drawn my wand to his throat.
" None of you have the right to throw accusations about MY family! NONE OF YOU! Especially when your a Slytherin scum bag like you." I then felt the twins pull me away.
" C'mon Shauna don't make a scene." I heard Remus whisper to me. I felt a tear slip down my cheek which I promptly wiped away. I quickly rushed out of the Great Hall followed by Remus and Professor McGonagall after they got Fred and George to stay put. As I left the whole hall was silent. No one said anything. I quickly walked as far away as possible. I don't know where I'm going but I just walked. Remus and McGonagall soon caught up to me. Remus pulled on my shoulder to stop me walking. By now tears were running freely down my face.
" What was that all about?" He asked gently. Both myself and McGonagall gave him a 'really?' face.
" Sirius Black." I said simply, " that's all it was. Snarky Slytherins of all people think that they can judge my family. OF ALL PEOPLE! They don't know anything about me, my father or my life, what I have had to live through. The burden my name carries." I then begin to feel very weak and almost fall to the floor but McGonagall catches me holding me gently. Much like Dumbledore being the grandfather I never had, McGonagall is much like the grandmother I never had. Remus stood there in shock for a while not sure how to respond. I had never really told him how things like this.
" I am sorry for the troubles you have to live with Miss Black. I really am. However you can't blow up like that, do you understand?" McGonagall asked kindly. I slowly nodded. " Good now you can go up to Gryffindor Tower and calm down. I'll see you in the morning for breakfast." Just as I began to walk away I felt Remus embrace me in a kind fatherly hug. I smiled at him and walked away. As I walked into the Common Room I heard voices. Being me I decided to hold back and listen.
" What exactly was that back there?" I heard Harry ask.
"I thinks it's best you ask her yourself." George said,
" yeah Shauna wouldn't appreciate you lot talking about her behind her back." Fred followed up.
" Look, Harry, all it is is that people are going to be talking ably Shauna a lot more." Ron told him.
" She's like one of the most popular girls in school people already talk about her." Harry said sounding rather confused.
" Ron means a bit more negatively now." Hermione tells him.
" But why?" Harry asked.
" Because I'm the daughter of Sirius Black. Happy?" I said. I then walked passed them all and walking up to the girls dormitories.

I stayed in my dorm for the majority of the next day. I missed breakfast and lunch but I decided I would go and meet Fred and George for our study period in the Great Hall. As I walked in I heard Seamus shouting " HE'S BEEN SIGHTED! HE'S BEEN SIGHTED!" with a copy of the Daily Prophet in his hands. He slammed it down on the table.
" Who?" Ron asked curiously.
" Sirius Black!" Seamus answered.
" Dufftown that's not far from here." Hermione said looking at the newspaper with everyone else.
" You don't think he'd come to Hogwarts! Do you?" Neville asked nervously.
" What with Dementors at every entrance?"
" Dementors? He's already slipped passed them once who's to say he won't do it again?" Seamus said.
" That's right, Black could be anywhere. It's like trying to catch smoke, it's like trying to catch smoke with your bare hands." One of the Gryffindor boys says.
" What's all the excitement about?" I ask from behind them with my arms crossed. They all quickly look at me instantly shutting up. " No, no c'mon let's see what everyone is talking about." I said calmly. I squeezed in between Fred and George grabbing the newspaper. The title read: Sirius Black Sighted. I smiled at the newspaper briefly and threw it back down on to the table. I know it sounds weird but I haven't seen a lot of my Dad considering he's been in the most high security wizarding prison for something he didn't even do. It's true as well. What those Slytherins said. I am, and always will be a daddy's girl. My Dad was a single Dad. He did it all in his own. Well with some help of Uncle Remus. He didn't have a supportive family who loved him. Family wise I'm all he had. And he's all I had. " You lot can say what you want. Just don't go around saying things that you don't know are true. Otherwise you'll have me to answer to." With that I turned around and left.

George's POV:

I walked down to our first DADA class with Shauna and Fred. I held on to Shauna's hand.
" How's Remus holding up?" I asked her.
" Good, I think he hasn't told me otherwise." She smiled up at me. That smile. It made me weak at the knees every time. After everyone arrived at Professor Lupins class he asked us to start moving out desks back to the correct place.
" What have you been doing in here anyway professor?" Fred asked before anyone could start moving the desks.
" Oh the third years were doing some work on Boggarts." Lupin said.
" What? We never got to do practicals with Boggarts in third year!" Shauna called from behind me.
" Really? Why not?" Lupin asked.
" Well we had Quirrel as a professor and that man was afraid of his own shadow!" I replied to which he chuckled.
" Well I guess I could let you guys do some practical work." Lupin smiled at us all. This guy is probably the best professor we've ever had. We all got lined up. I was stood in between Shauna and Fred. " Fred you next," Lupin beckoned Fred forward towards the Boggart. It began shapeshifting until it decided to turn into You-Know-Who. I heard Fred let out a little whimper.
"Ridikulus." Fred called pointing his wand at the Boggart. You-Know-Who then suddenly had a short, tight, sparkly, pink dress, a pink feather boa and a long blonde wig. Everyone burst out laughing and this caused the Boggart to look confused. Fred walked to the back of the line with a confident smirk.
" George your next." Lupin called smiling. I confidently walked forward. I say confidently, I was confident until I saw what my Boggart turned into. It was Shauna shouting at me. I know that sounds pathetic but one of my biggest fears is Shauna telling me I'm not worth it and leave me.
" Why did I ever bother with you! Your useless! Stupid! Pathetic! WE'RE OVER!" She shouted. I felt tears start to prick in my eyes.
" Ridikulus!" I shouted. Then the Boggart turned into a massive toad wearing a tutu and a tiara. Everyone started laughing and I slowly turned around only to be met by a massive hug from Shauna. Her arms wrapped around my neck and mine wrapped around her waist. She quickly pecked my lips before walking up to the Boggart. I could feel the pink colour flood into my cheeks. I walk to the back by Fred and make eye contact with Professor Lupin how is looking at me curiously. I quickly looked away trying to avoid his gaze. I decided to watch Shauna and the Boggart. I watched as it turned split into four bodies lying on the floor it was her dad, Lupin, Fred and I. Then a Dementor started giving Sirius Black the Dementor's kiss. She looks as though she's frozen to the spot.
" So you think she's okay?" Angelina whispered to us. I gently shook my head. Lupin stood in front of her and put it back in the cupboard. She quickly makes her way out the door. I quickly follow her. I soon find her behind a suit of armour crying. As soon as she sees me she shoots up from where she's sitting. Tears streaming down her face. I quickly embraced her into a hug. She gripped onto my school shirt and buried her face into the crook of my neck. I responded by wrapping my arms around her and putting my head in her hair letting her cry it out. I'm going to try and be here for her as much as possible.
