"Please," The boy begs. "Please don't hurt me or my sister."
The Yogscast characters looked at the boy, then the small figure behind him. There was a small girl, around the age of 8-9, with very short air cropped close to her head. Her hair roots were a hay color, which faded to a bleach blonde. Her wide mossy green eyes scanned across each of their faces blankly. She wore a gray tank-top with a faded pink sweater covered in mud and blood remnants. She wore black pants which hide most dirt and gore, but it's still visible. Her black and white converse shoes are faded and covered in mud.
"We're not going to hurt you." Hannah said, a motherly tone in her voice. She bent over to be eye-level with the children.
"What's your names?" Liam asked.
"I'm Caleb Veromi. This is my sister, Ryder Veromi." The boy said. In his hand, he held a crowbar.
"Are you alone?" Zoey asked.
Caleb nodded. His knuckles went white around the crowbar.
"Would you like to come with us? We have a house that we've been sheltering in. It's sturdy, and we got some food for you to eat." Joakim offered.
Caleb took a step back, getting ready to swing the crowbar incase they try anything. Ryder shifted, and moved closer to her brother.
"We're not going to hurt you, promise. We only want to help." Hannah insisted.
Caleb slowly relaxed his hold on the crowbar, and kneeled down to his sister's eye level. He murmured something to her, but her face remained blank. He sighed, then stood back up.
"We'll come. But if your tricking us, take me, and let my sister go." Caleb ordered.
The Yogscast members nodded, none arguing about the last part. They all headed outside the restaurant.
"We saw you enter the freezer." Caleb said, looking at Lewis. "I-I mean, we- were debating whether or not to help you out. When we decided to help you, the rest of you came in, and we hid back in the closet. I-I was just confused and scared that you might hurt us."
"It's okay. We won't hurt you. And I'm fine now." Lewis said.
"Not totally. We have to bandage up that wound of yours when we get back." Hannah said, eyeing the dried blood on top of Lewis' head.
"It'll be fine." Lewis reassured.
They all walked back to the flat, Ryder hooking to her brother's arm all the way there. Side by side, the two didn't look much alike.
The group made it back to the flat in record time, walking through the door with the kids following cautiously. Chris was still laying on the couch, and the black liquid seemed to have stopped. Marzia was sitting on the chair, lost in thought. Chapin seemed to still be locked in her room.
"Hey." Liam said. Marzia and Chris turned to look at them, and offered a half-smile.
Marzia's gaze settled on the two children. "Who're they?"
"These are the kids we found in a restaurant. Their names are Caleb and Ryder." Hannah introduced.
"Hello." Chris said, waving.
"Would you like something to eat?" Marzia offered.
Caleb shrugged.
"Here, you sit here." Marzia said, getting up from the large wooden chair. By the looks of it, both Caleb and Ryder could sit in it, if Ryder sat in Caleb's lap.
Caleb guided his little sister to the chair, sat down, then lifted up Ryder to sit on his lap. Ryder snuggled up to her brother, and placed her head on Caleb's shoulder. Marzia came over and kneeled to be eye-level with Ryder.
"Are you hungry, sweetie?" Marzia asked quietly.
Ryder didn't respond. She just stared blankly at Marzia.
"She doesn't talk," Caleb informed. "I think she's mute. Ever since my parents adopted her, she hasn't talked. Half the time, I don't think she can even understand us."
"Oh," Marzia said. "Sorry. Do you want anything, Caleb?"
"....Sure." Caleb eventually answered. Marzia walked over to a bag and took out a can of fruits. She opened the can, and gave it to Caleb.
Caleb held a piece of fruit out for Ryder, but she shook her head and layed back down on her brother's shoulder.
"She doesn't eat much, either." Caleb said. "It's a help, but I worry."
"As they're eating, why don't we check out your wound?" Hannah said, turning to Lewis. He nodded.
Hannah guided Lewis to sit on the floor, while she kneeled down and parted his hair on the wound. Lewis flinched at the touch, but didn't say anything.
Hannah gently took a cloth and cleaned off Lewis' head. She dumped a water bottle on the cloth, making it wet and easier to clean. The cloth quickly became covered in blood, and the wound became more visible. Hannah flinched herself when she saw the wound.
The wound was about an inch deep, too deep in Hannah's opinion. His skull sprouted out of the skin, covered and stained in blood.
"Do we have anything for this?" Hannah asked, trying to keep the fear out of her voice. Liam came over to see.
"How bad is it?" Liam said. He saw the wound, and his eye widened. He leaned down and whispered to Hannah, "I think we need a doctor or something." Hannah glared, but didn't say anything.
"How bad is it?" Lewis repeated Liam's question.
"Not bad." Hannah lied. "We might need some thread, though...."
"Another stitching wound?!" Lewis asked, thinking back to when he fell from the elevator.
"I guess so." Hannah said.
Chapin chose this time to come out of the room, taking Caleb by surprise. Their eyes locked, and Chapin turned her head away to glare at the others.
"Who the h*ll are these people?!" Chapin demanded. Caleb glared at her, and put hand over Ryder's ears.
"They're people that we helped while you were locked in a room and ignored us." Joakim snapped. Chapin was about to argue further, when she saw Hannah and Lewis.
"What happened to him?" She asked, temporarily letting her anger die down.
Hannah glared at her. "We saved him while you, once again, locked yourself in a room and ignored us."
Chapin took a deep breath, her anger rising. "What. Do. You. Need?"
"We need thread." Hannah snapped. "I doubt you got any."
Chapin snarled at her. "I did find a case of thread and needles in this room, but I don't think I'll give them to you."
Hannah stood up suddenly. "He needs it!"
"Does he? Too bad." Chapin taunted. She made a pouty face.
Zoey, who had walked into Chapin's room while she wasn't looking, walked back out with a box. "Before you two start a cat fight, here's the thread. Just fix him and stop talking!" She threw the box in Hannah's direction, who caught it, glared at Chapin, and got to work sewing up Lewis' head.
Chapin glared at both Hannah and Zoey, then walked back into her room. They all heard a 'click' of a lock.
"What was that all about?" Caleb said. The can was empty, and Ryder was sleeping on Caleb's shoulder.
"It's just Chapin. Our once-leader." Joakim answered.
