The group, now reunited, ran down the hallways once again away from the undead horde. Toby had picked up Elly, while Liam had scooped up Caleb. Neither could really hold them for long, so they set the two pre-teens down and continued running. The horde of the zombies followed after them, limping or crawling.
"Where are we going?!" Adam asked.
"We're escaping!" Zoey answered. "To the front doors!"
The group turned a corner, then realized something important: Where the hell are those doors?
"Where are we, exactly?" Toby asked. "And where would those doors be?"
"Let's just go find them!" Zoey said, running down a corridor again as the undead horde got too close for comfort.
The others followed the gamer-girl, and ran down the hallway. When they reached the end of it and turned down another hallway, they realized too late it was a dead end.
"A dead end?!" Zoey exclaimed.
"Quick! In here!" Jerome said, opening a nearby door. They all piled in, and he shut the door behind him and locked it.
They heard the zombies shamble down the hallway, and then start to wander. A few passed by the door, but didn't notice them inside.
The group sat still in certain areas of the room, mostly on the floor. Caleb and Elly, with Liam by their side, sat close and watched as the shadows passed and went.
"Ouch," Elly involuntarily hisses when her arm hits the wall. Liam notices, as does a few other people, and he leans close to her ear.
"Were you bitten?" He whispers. Elly nods, and he tries to hide the wound from everyone else. No one else here knows about her being immune. Heck, Liam even forgot and for a moment he considered her being shot was the quickest way. But then the truth came back to him and he felt it was appropiate to atleast wait until they got out of this mess to confront it.
"What is it?" Zoey asked.
"It's nothing," Liam said quickly. "She just hurt herself. That's all."
"Better be," Adam said, earning a glare from Liam.
They sat in silence. The moans of the undead was the only sound they heard.
"They're not going to go away," Caleb spoke up, his voice low. "We have to get out of here."
"It's not going to be easy," Zoey began.
"Nothing is easy now," Caleb said. "It's always going to be hard. But we have to keep going."
"Okay," Liam said, a bit startled by the outburst. "How are we going to get of here, then?"
Everyone looked around the room. It was another hospital room, with two beds and a television. One bed was knocked over, while the other had a suspicious red stain along it. The tiles on the floor was equally stained, and lead to the bathroom.
"Think we should check that out?" Jerome asked.
"Sure," Adam agreed.
"Wait, wait, wait," Ross stopped them. "Remember the last time you guys 'checked something out'? A zombie almost killed you."
"Maybe there's nothing," Jerome said. "Maybe there's a good 'ole pile of loot in there."
"Fine. Whatever." Ross walked away, clearly not caring anymore.
The two Team Crafted members got close to the bathroom, weapons at the ready. Jerome placed a hand on the knob, and looked back at Adam.
"Are you scared?" Adam joked.
