"Dad." Harley breathed.

The man stood in the tent entrance. If you could call him a man. He stood, double the size of any normal adult male. He had a scraggly, pure, black beard that covered his broad neck. He was breathing heavily in and out of his curved nose. His biceps were about the size of Harley's head and his legs the size of both Harley's legs put together.

"Baby," he grunted to Harley in his low, gravelly voice. He turned to Oliver and gave him a glare, "get the fuck out." Oliver whimpered and scurried out of the room in a hurry, despite the crutches. Harley faced her father and frowned angrily.

"Where's Farlan?" he asked, no more, no less.

Harley couldn't make a sound. He rolled his eyes.
"We need 'im."
"Who is we?" she croaked, the lump in her throat making it incredibly difficult to speak.
"Who d'ya think?"
Harley inhaled a long breath, "Mance?"
Her father gave a slow nod, and continued to stare at her, waiting on an answer.

"I dunno papa."
"Yes, you do."
Harley bit her tongue.
"Why do you need him?" she questioned in a shaky voice.
"That's not something for a little girl to know." he shot back at her.
"I'm not a little girl!" she spat, "I'm a woman now! You'd know that if you were around more often."
Now he was angry.

"Where the fuck is Farlan?"
Harley wanted to cry.
"I'm right here." Farlan appeared in the tent's entrance.

"Good," he narrowed his black eyes at Harley, and turned to her brother, "come."
Farlan gave Harley an anxious look.

Harley had always been close with her brother. She was more masculine than he was. Farlan was gentle, fun and very merciful. Harley quite the opposite.
"Why don't I go instead?" Harley said.
"You're my daughter," her father replied, "stay with your mama."

He ushered Farlan out of the tent, and disappeared behind him.

Harley stared at the tent entrance for several minutes, before turning and smashing her fist onto the table in the centre of the room.
