your eyes were the colour of the ocean
and they reminded me of crashing waves
a salty taste
a sudden coolness enveloping me
i wanted to swim in them
whenever we kissed
you tasted of salt
and i actually started to believe
you were the ocean
and later you took me
under the surface
you drowned me
and i couldn't breathe
in your ocean eyes
and salty lips
crashing against me
like waves at the shore
and it was then i figured out
i was the sand
with sandy blonde hair
my skin a golden tan
and whenever the sand and ocean meet
they always pull apart again.
