Chapter 26- Come with me to prom.

Hiccup walked aimlessly around the halls of DAGH, his mind keep on turning back to Merida. Okay, he admits it, he's jealous! He's jealous of Jack hanging out with Merida because he thinks they're getting too close for his liking.

His suddenly stopped in front of the school's bulletin board and there he saw one poster that caught his attention.

DAGH PROM: 5 DAYS TO GO!

THEME: MASQUERADE.

TIME: 6:00 PM-12:00 AM.

DON'T BE LATE.

He suddenly felt his mood change. This is it! This is the answer to his problem!

He'll ask Merida out on prom before Jack could and then maybe just maybe he'll have the guts to confess.

Hiccup smiled to himself, he decides that he'll ask her later after school then he went on his way thinking of ways how to ask Merida.

Time Skip!

"Hey, Mer!" Merida turned around to see Hiccup from across the hall running after her, she stopped walking and waited for him.

"Hic, are you okay? What's wrong?"

Hiccup was catching his breath, his hands on his knees and he was sweating he pointed one finger in the air.

"J-Just *gasps* give me a--whoo!  A s-se-second!"

Merida shifted her weight to the left and waited for him. When Hiccup's breathing calmed down he stand up straight and put his hands on both of her shoulders.

"Go with me to prom. It'll be on Tuesday, this Tuesday."

Merida stared at him blankly for 15 seconds and not saying anything.

"No."

"Aw, come on Mer! Please? Can you do this for a friend?"

"Hiccup," She removed both of his hands and looked at him straight in the eye. "Look, I still have many important things to do than attend to some silly party. Like, you know, look for Pitch's whereabouts and what's his next move." She whispered the last part.

"But-!"

"Plus, I still have to practice with Jack for our song."

Hiccup's shoulders slumped and he pouted. She's right.

"I just thought you would, you know, have some fun?"

"Hiccup, I don't have time for fun..."

He nodded and turned around to walk away. Merida felt guilty all of the sudden, she knows her friend just wants her to have fun, to relax.

She bit her bottom lip and called out for his name.

"Hic! Wait! I'll... I'll think about it."

She was found herself locked up on his arms in an instant.

"Thank you, Mer! I hope you consider this."

She smiled softly and gave her friend a hug. He let go then Merida nodded at him then she went away.

When she was out of sight he shouted and did a fist-bump in the air, attracting some students attention.

"YES!!! WHOOO!!!"

"Hey! Mr. Haddock?! Shouting is against the school rules!" A DC officer yelled.

He just gave him a sheepish smile then he walked home.
