There's Only One

The Ruins

I was all alone, and no one was here to cover me as I searched through the ravaged city for survivors. When I was traveling, I saw another group of these terrorists. I aimed my gun at the main guy, but a man and a woman with, what looks like, ninja gear on just came through and took these guys out. The only thing I heard from the guy was, "Come on, Abby, there is no time to slow down." I found it odd that the terrorists had taken my whole team down, but these random people came and took them down in one go. After seeing this I chased after them, so I can ask who they were and if I could help them. When I caught up with them I yelled out, "Stop, we are ordered to evacuate the city of all civilians!" The guy turned to me, "I am no civilian, I have fought the demons from azathoria, I can take care of myself." When he said this, I spoke again, "Hey, I saw what you did to those guys, it was amazing. Also, who are you two?" I questioned them. "I am George, and this is my wife Abby. The elders from Acention has sent us here because there is an invasion to take down our realm. So, if you want to join us, tag along with us. Also, where's your team?" He asked, "They were murdered by these bastards." I replied to George. "Very well, you may join us until this city of Alexandria is saved from destruction." George said, and he took out his sword, and we started going through the city looking for survivors. We stumbled in a run-down apartment complex, when a weird looking enemy jumped shot at us from a rooftop. I raised my rifle and shot him in the head, and he fell off of the rooftop, and landed in front of me. The sound of the gunshot attracted more enemies to our location, we were surrounded. Just when we thought we were dead, a bright red light appeared behind us, and a squad of some demon-looking things came out of it and ran towards the terrorists. I raised my gun, but George pointed my gun downwards, "No, this is Lahrach's revenants, they're here to help us, but the high counsel revenants are working for these terrorists." George said, informing me about the hell that we're going through. I watched as these revenant things took down the whole crowd. I turned to George, "What the hell, what's going on here? Who are these things? Who are you?" George looked  at me, he had a little bit of a saddened look in his eyes, "We are beings that are here to protect all realms from destruction." I looked at him in confusion, "Realms? What realms? What the fuck, is going on?" When I finished my sentence, a building exploded behind us, "Come on, let's move. Quick! Under that overhang!" I yelled at them. We ran at our fastest, as the skyscraper crumbled down. I jumped underneath the overhang, George and Abby climbed above a balcony, and flipped over a wall. I covered my head, as the debris and concrete were propelled in my direction. When I opened my eyes once more, all I saw was a thick cloud of dust and debris.
