I stroll into work with a huge grin plastered over my face, Ross following behind me. I parted ways with him and headed for my station- next to Max.
I saw Max sitting there staring at his desktop, leaning back on his chair twiddling his fingers. He seemed fidgety. I walked up beside him, crossing my arms, giving him a huge grin. Max slowly turned towards me, looking up at me with wide, fearful eyes.
I sighed and offered him a hand up but he declined standing on his own, pushing his chair under.
"Sorry about... eh... earlier..." Max uttered quietly, loud enough for me, and only me, to hear. I sighed and chuckled slightly, pulling up my jeans to fit more comfortably.
"Mate, it's alright. I didn't know you felt that way about me..." I said, giving Max a friendly smile. Max gave me a small smile and breathed out sharply, rubbing his hands through his red hair.
"I... I don't know how I feel about you... I was going off of the feelings I got from you, I read the room and I thought its what you wanted... I'm sorry..." Max explained. I was taken aback. I took a small step backwards and gave Max a horrified glare and scaring him. Max seemed to flinch as I put my hand on my head and scratched my hair.
"Max. You have nothing to apologise for... hell, I'd say you read the room pretty well..." I smirked at him. Now was Max's time to be surprised, his eyes raising cautiously and giving me a strange look as if he was trying to contemplate something.
"Uh... okay..." Max finally said. I smiled and patted him on the shoulder. Max finally smiled back at me and we shared a warm, hearty chuckle. "What- uh... now..?" Max asked.
I turned towards my chair and pulled it out, looking back at Max and shrugging. Max sighed and sat down beside me and I switched on my computer. Honestly, I didn't know where to go from here. He clearly has feelings for me as I have for him, but we didn't know how to handle these feelings. We got to work and soon got distracted by the events of the day.
"Hey guys, Sky here. Today I'm joined by Max, Ross, Berney- not Barney. And today we're playing Do Not Laugh." Adam made his normal intro on do not laugh, it echoing out of Max's headset. I was staring at Max play with them, planning their jokes, making some already to distract Adam from his intro.
Max finally started his joke and got me cracking up as I heard Adam snort all the way from his office. I held back my laugh and got back to work.
I was engrossed in editing Ross' video that I didn't notice Adam sneaking up behind me. They had all finished the recording by now and had planned something for me. Sitting back in slight annoyance, Adam grabbed my arms and held me back. I yelped and tried to pull away, only to find Max below me holding my legs.
That is when John walked in, followed by Michael. I squirmed in my seat.
"Hey guys! I'm working let me go!" I saw Corey following with the camera. I sighed and decided to play along. I lightly struggled but felt them tie me to my chair with duct tape. "The duct tape challenge again?" I moaned, feeling the tightness around my body.
"So R/N here is going to be doing a fun little game here." Adam explained to the camera.
"I am?" I chuckled. Max was still kneeling in front of me, turning my chair so I was facing away from him. He stood up and whispered in my ear.
"Yeah!" He said. I laughed and pulled my head forward.
"R/N has to answer some questions. If he gets them right, we will cut off some duct tape. If he gets it wrong, we will make his situation harder. Throughout this, R/N has to be trying to escape. If the timer hits 0 then they suffer a forfeit." Adam explained fully. My eyes free wide and I instantly began struggling. I didn't wanna do a forfeit.
