I sat on my bed upon getting dressed and grabbed my phone hurriedly, checking my messages. 0. Sighing, I rolled my eyes and shoved my phone in my pocket, standing and walking towards my bedroom door.
As I walked into the living room I heard a sudden knock at the door. Startled, I cautiously approached my white wood door and looked through the keyhole to find Ross.
"And thus, a wild Ross appears." I smile, crossing my arms as I lean on my door frame.
"You do that a lot..." Ross chuckled.
"Do what?" I said, standing and unfolding my arms, a small smile creeping onto my face.
"Lean on the door frame whenever someone knocks." Ross explained, scratching his hair.
"Force of habbit, I guess..." I trailed off. Ross smiled and pulled out his car keys.
"Wanna come get some supplies for tomorrows challenge video?" Ross offered, winking at me. I rolled my eyes and turned to the bowl behind my door, grabbing up my keys and shoving them in my pocket, smiling as I closed my door and followed Ross down the hall.
We hopped in Ross' car and he drove us away, turning the radio on low as we drove. The car smelt clean, like a new book, or freshly cut grass. Ross adjusted the mirror as we pulled up at the traffic lights.
"You know Max didn't meant what he did, right?" Ross finally said. I was leaning on the window when he spoke, tapping my foot to the guitarist singing a song on the radio and I sighed quietly and turned to Ross.
"Yeah. I know. I overreacted. I was going to talk to u in later when I brought his clothes back..." I said hesitantly, a small smile momentarily appearing over Ross' face as I finished.
"So you two official then?" Ross asked.
"Honestly... I don't... know... another thing I planned to talk to Max about." I explained, looking towards Ross as we pulled away from the lights. Ross smiled and nodded, keeping his eyes on the road. "Hey, what's uh... Tim's deal?" I asked somewhat quietly, as if he could hear me.
"Oh!" Ross said loudly, seeming shocked by the question. "Uh... Yeah, sorry about him. It's nothing personal. Well. It is. But still, he isn't homophobic if that's what you mean. That'd be the day..." Ross became quiet and drifted off as he spoke and we turned into a car park.
"Why doesn't he like me? Why doesn't he like Max?" I asked, my voice insistent.
"Uh..." Ross hesitated, pulling the car into a parking spot and shutting off the engine. "Max should probably explain. Tim isn't homophobic, what he said earlier was just a little jab. He himself is-" Ross sighed and stopped himself. "You should probably talk to Max about this." He said, his eyes breaking into me as if to say "please stop asking these questions". I forced a weak smile and jumped out of the car.
"So... what are we buying?" I asked, sarcastically opening my arms at the big store. We walked through the huge doors and a gust of cool air fluttered through my hair. Ross yawned and stretched as the air rushed around his face, making him shiver at first touch.
"We're buying..." Ross hesitated, searching his pockets, fishing around for something. Coins, keys and paper rustled in his pocket, clinging together like gears. "Flour, eggs, milk, sugar, baking soda and..." he listed, straining to read the words on the piece of paper he'd pulled from his endless pocket. "Vanilla extract." He finished, looking up at me.
"What? Are we making a cake?" I asked sarcastically.
"Technically, yeah. But it's more than one and for a challenge for Adam and Max." Ross smiled.
