I was just leaving my apartment in this fine Friday morning, feeling exhilarated and fresh. I had just taken a nice cool shower and had some bacon for breakfast, the sweet smell erupting into the hallway as I opened my front door.

Stepping out, I saw Max and Ross just leaving. They saw me and smiled at me. I waved at them and strolled on over, a small hop in each step.

"You seem happy today, R/N." Ross said, tiredness showing on his voice.

"I've just had a great couple weeks with you guys and today is Friday so, Ya know!" I giggled. I glanced at Max while talking and Max looked down at the floor, smiling to himself.

"Need a ride?" Max looked up at me and winked.

We arrived at work a bit early today and met Adam and Em and Corey and Jake. All of them were sorting out the real life do not laugh set scheduled for today. I walked over and greeted them all. Max headed to his station after waving at them and Ross just went and sat down on the couch.

"I'm gonna go on a coffee run." I said, the idea popping into my head. Some have me a few glances but in all continued with their work. "Anyone want any?" I persisted.

5 minutes later and I have a list of coffees. Adam and Max offered to come with me but I turned Adam down. "Nah, we don't need more than two people carrying coffees. You stay here and keep your employees in check." I winked at him. Adam breathed out a small laugh and rolled his eyes, turning back to the set.

Me and Max set off down the road to pick up some coffees.

"What's the real reason you're happy then, R/N?" Max said, giving me a small smile as he glanced at me. I smiled and kept looking ahead. I slowly turned my head and stared at him, my smile still plastered. My eyes grew wider as I looked Max up and down. Max sighed and giggled.

"Guess." I said casually, looking forward again.

"Hmm... it can't be your nose, that looks like it hurts still." He pondered.

"It's getting there." I cut in.

"Hmm..." Max uttered, scratching at his beard. I smiled and looked at him.

"It's you you dope." I laughed, punching him on the arm playfully. Max cleared his throat and gave an awkward chuckle before scratching the back of his head.

"Ah. As I figured." He began smiling again.

We reached the coffee place and I ordered the coffees and some muffins for the others- chocolate and blueberry just in case. Max snuck a blueberry and ate it on our way back, crumbs falling into his beard.

We got back to work about 10 minutes after we left and handed out the coffees and muffins. Thanks yous and shouldn't haves all round. Me and Max danced to our seats in happiness, me more than Max because John was looking and giggling.

"I'm happy!" Max protested, clenching his fists and sitting down laughing. I joined in and soon enough we were causing the office to erupt in bouts of laughter.

Lunch rolled around and Max headed to the kitchen to make some tea. He offered me a cup but I declined politely, leaning back on my chair and looking through my satchel. (YES A SATCHEL!!!) I flipped open the top and looked inside.

Pulling out a chocolate bar, I realised it had melted and sighed. I stood up reluctantly and headed for the kitchen. Inside, I pulled some kitchen roll from its place and tore of about 2 pieces of tissue. Max gave me a quizzical look and chuckled.

"What the hell are you doing?" He laughed.

"My chocolate bar melted..." I sighed, laughing a little. I unwrapped the chocolate and it dripped all over the kitchen roll. I gave Max a small grin and tapped my nose.

"Smart ass!" Max rolled his eyes. I chuckled and continued to unwrap the bar of chocolate. Max finished making his tea and sipped it, turning and leaning on the counter.

"Want some help?" He said, taunting me with an offer of his hand. I sighed and he stepped over. He nudged me aside and started pulling the chocolate apart, leaving nothing but crushed bits of wafer. I laughed hard in his ear.

"The trick is... to... get the wrapper out the way... and..." Max explained. I looked at the side of his face and examined him. His beard grew from his hair down his cheeks and around his chin and mouth, the red hair like dripping lava or melted bronze. I smiled at the sight of this man in front of me.

Max finished decimating the chocolate bar and took a small step back.

"Ta da!" He said proudly, crossing his arms. I ignored the bar and stepped towards him.

"C'mere." I said somewhat quietly. Max looked at me questionably and uncrossed his arms. I stepped forward and put my forefinger through his beard.

"What are you..." he said quietly, our eyes meeting. His green orbs invading my minds eye and making me feel dizzy.

"You got some crumbs..." I whispered, wiping the muffin crumbs away. When I was done wiping them away, we stood there staring into each others eyes.

"Uh... thanks..." Max whispered, looking from my lips to my eyes, leaning forward slightly. I learned in a bit more and our lips barely touched.

"Anytime." I more or less mouthed.

Suddenly, Adam comes in, we hear him cough into his arm and pull away from eachother to see Adam glued to his phone. I turned back to my chocolate bar and Max picked up his tea hurriedly, spilling a little on the counter and walking fast out of the kitchen. Adam opened the fridge and eyed me carefully.

"That chocolate bar is screwed man..." Adam said calmly. I smiled and rolled my eyes.

"Thanks to Max..." I laughed, wiping the tissue into the bin along with the bar of chocolate. I walked out of the kitchen and sighed. The picture of Max's eyes still fresh in my mind.
