The work day was pretty rough to begin with, Adam had done a Do Not Laugh and a TubeTycoon videos for his channels in the morning but the footage was corrupted so I had to fix that which took my about three hours- and I couldn't save the TubeTycoon video either. I was pretty angry the entire day to be honest, Ross kept finding reasons to be near Max and "help" him with work. Max didn't seem to notice me the whole morning.
"Aye! Max!" I say angrily. Max turns on his chair and gives me a blunt stare before sighing and walking over.
"Yeah?" He said tiredly.
"I fixed a video." I mutter, bringing up the working files. "Want me to send it to you for editing?" I ask on a single breath. Max yawns and stretches uttering a simple reply.
"Uh huh." Max walked back to his station and waited for the files to arrive, as soon as they did he pulled up one of them and began editing it, swiftly moving his mouse around his desk and smashing away on his keybaord. His face screwing up every now and then, his eyes rolling in exasperation.
By lunch, Max was done with the video and I was getting bored of trying to fix the broken video. I sighed and stood up, Max following and stretching, yawning loudly. Max switched off his computer and offered me a weak smile, I breathed and smiled back.
"What's up?" He asked as we walked to the door to meet Adam and Corey and the others at lunch. I gave him a side glance before breathing loudly again.
"Nothing..." I say defensively. Max rolls his eyes and steps in front of me, placing his hands on my shoulders.
"Normally I wouldn't give a shit- but considering your... well... you- I do. So what. Is. Up?" He said again, his grip tightening on my arms.
"Just uh... somin Ross said earlier. Pissed me off kinda. It's stupid, don't worry about it." I reply coldly, pushing passed Max and walking onward towards the stairs. I opened the door to the stairs and looked down before sucking in a puff of fresh air drifting through the slit in the doors at the bottom of the stairs.
"No no no... seee see see- I am going to worry about it. What did Ross say?" Max said in disbelief and slight annoyance, running ahead of me and blocking the door at the bottom of the stairs.
"I said it doesn't matter." I say angrily, attempting and failing to push passed Max. Max leaned on the doors and crossed his arms, offering me a smug smile.
"You actually said it's stupid... And clearly it does matter if it bothers you so just tell me or I'm going to kick Ross in the balls." Max said, his face turning slightly red with anger, his beard screwed up and covering his lips.
"Yeah, he'd probably like that." I utter, crossing my arms in defiance.
"What did he say for fucks sake?!" Max burst. I was taken aback by his sdden anger and in turn got angry.
"He said he'd like to fuck you. Literally, okay?" I say angrily, literally grabbing Max and pushing him out of the way, anger leaking from him and replaced with confusion. The cool air was refreshing on my soft skin and it smelled of distant pine. I took in a deep breath and walked towards the place in which the taco truck was. Down the street.
"Well the feeling isn't mutual. I don't see why it's pissing you off so much. You're the only who gets to..." Max laughed, catching up to me. I forced a smile and sped up my pace, trying to avoid Max as anger washed over me more every second. "You realise he drinks, right?" Max joked, pretty much jogging to keep up with me.
"Well, we all drink." I joined in the joke, a rinsing of anger escaping me. A small smile stretching onto my face. "And you're the one who... fucks me, Max." I whisper, a burst of laughter taking us by suprise. Calming ourselves down, we saw the others around a table eating tacos, being spotted by Michael who waved us over.
"Hey Ross." I say sarcastically, offering a small smile towards Max, who giggled as we sat down with our food. Ross smiled and gave a quick greeting before awkwardly eyeing Tim, who had a small grin on his face as he looked at me. "Hi Timmy." I taunted, Tim gritted his teeth at this and turned and began conversing with Adam.
"You got your phone on you, R/N?" Ross asked awkwardly.
"Obviously." I say smiling, taking a bite out of my taco, pulling my phone and placing it on the table. Ross sighed and shook his head gently when I did this.
"Nice phone." Tim commented darkly, sipping his coca cola. I smiled and nodded before picking it up and eyeing it carefully, smiling to myself.
"Yeah, it is." I smirk. The phone beeped then and I shook in fear. Laughing slightly, I unlock it and see it was a text message- from Ross. Awkwardly, I turn to Ross who was red and looking down at his phone, slightly turning away from me. "Uh..."
"So Max! You had any good tail lately?" Tim interupted quickly, shooting me an angry glance.
"What the fuck, Tim?" Max replies angrily, choking on a mouthful of food. My phone beeped loudly and I sighed, listening to Max and Tim argue, I answered the text.
(What?) I sent Ross.
(You have to back away from Max. It's for your own good. Don't let anyone know about this text.) Ross replied quickly. Anger flashed through me and I gritted my teeth hard, giving Ross a soul-crushing stare. Ross seemed sad.
(Or what?) I reply quickly.
(Or you'll find it harder.) Ross replied, pushing his phone back into his pocket. Tim laughed loudly and apologised to Max just then, looking at me with a huge smile on his face.
"So, R/N. Wanna come over later? Have a boys night in and play some... Undertale? Max your card game thingy." Tim asked me and Max. Max turned to me with a wide smile and waited for my reply.
"Yeah, sure I'll come over Tim." I say calmly, anger and confusion boiling inside of my cauldron of a heart. Adam quickly finished up his food and stood up, gesturing that we should all head back. We packed up our food and headed back to the office, noticing Ross seemed sadder than usual and Tim seemed kinder and happier. A sense of unease brushed me as we approached the offices, getting ready to get back to work and end the day.
(Author- Sorry this was a lacking chapter. More to come soon I hope xD)
