Matilda was one of the most powerful witches ever and one of the scariest. Matilda Blackwood had gray leathered skin, and hair as black as the devil's heart that looked like it had been set aflame. She only had one outfit: an old tattered cloak that looked like it was dragged through the mud too many times and never washed after. She looked as unwashed as her cloak, she never wore shoes and her nails, both fingers and toes, were long and yellow. It was said the decrepit old witch had a daughter - although, no one had seen the young girl - most assumed the child was either stolen or imaginary.

Matilda Blackwood knew two things: one, although she was the strongest and evilest creature to walk the earth, she was not immortal. There was no way to stop the cruel hands of time from winding down.Second, she knew she would need an heir, someone to pass her powers down to,someone who could pick up from where she will someday leave off, someone who could succeed where she has failed, someone special. So one night five years ago Matilda wondered into an orphanage and picked herself a child, a baby girl with big black doe eyes, ivory skin and silky brown hair. Matilda knew this child would do perfectly, so she picked the child up and brought her home without anyone ever noticing. For her to truly be all powerful she would need to be queen. Matilda saw her chance to rule the night the king sent for her.Without another word she packed her spell book and her daughter then headed for the castle.
