Alex sat cross lagged on one end of the small white couch with his whole body angled to face his Max as he told him all about what happened that night after leaving the Mole Barry Tavern. He told him all about his father's temper and the thirteen years of never being allowed to leave the cage his father called a home and never feeling anything but cold icy hatred from his father. He even told him about the girl named Espen Blackwood who his father demanded he marry, he told Max all about his father's passing and everything in between. Everything but his feelings for Max.

Alex was a little hesitant to bare his heart and soul to Max after thirteen years of being frozen out by his own father. He couldn't bare the idea of Max hating him or not wanting anything to do with him. He knew it would shatter his heart if he lost him so he just sat on his side of the couch watching him and waiting to hear how times have treated him over the years hoping with all his might that they had been good.

Max sat on his side of the small white couch with his knees tucked in and his chin resting on them listening to Alex talk about the last thirteen years. Hearing about his father and his coldness to Alex and his demands for him to marry another caused his heart to ache for Alex. He wasn't sure what to do with his feelings so he just told him what had happened in the last thirteen years for him. He told him about becoming a black smith and all the things he got to make including the dagger he made and carried with him everywhere.

The room had fallen silent, the boys had so much they could talk about but there was one thing they both still wanted to tell the other, they just didn't know how to. So they just sat in silence watching each other be content.

That lasted a total of two minutes before the silence and big emerald green eyes staring at him became too much for Alex and had him babbling to Max about being in love with and something that wasn't all that clear or important because all Max cared about was knowing Alex loved him too and getting the opportunity to love him in return.

Alex watched as Max head shot up and his face brighten with the most beautiful he had ever seen. His heart started to pick up speed until it stopped altogether from the shock of hearing Max say " I've loved you since the day under the table at Mole Berry Tavern when we first met and I've loved you every day since then, as well as every day after until my dying breath my prince."

Alex didn't expect that reaction, he also couldn't find the power to stop himself from being shell shocked by those words while making what Max would later describe to be 'a great impression of a fish.' Seeing this made Max realize there was one of two things he could do in Alex state of shock one, being he could laugh at the situation or two, which may -he hoped- help Alex come out of his shock stage being. Max chose option two, he leaned towards his prince and locked their lips in a kiss so passionate it could have awoken Shakespeare Romeo from his death. It also seemed to be enough to awake Alex from shock just to put him into a state of dopey love. ' Hey snow white's dopey is better than an impression of a fish I guess' thought Max as he watches Alex's face.
