Espen and Matilda had made it to the castle just before nightfall and wasted no time to make their way into the castle. By the time Matilda found the prince she was seething with anger from her foolish daughter, that anger only seem to intensify when she saw the 'loving couple' wrapped in each other's arms. Anyone including her foolish daughter if it came down to it, ruling was more important.
Espen Blackwood saw the two boys wrapped in each other's arms and how they looked atone another like they were each other's worlds as if all there happiness and love was just lying in the palms of their hands. When she saw them her heart warmed. She realized that they were indeed made for one another, they deserve done another, and who was she or her mother to take away so much happiness from this already dark world they lived in. Espen already knew she wanted to do good with her life and in that moment she knew good would have to start with helping these boys against her mother.
