PROLOGUE
Sunday service it is. The Pastor’s message is about being able to discern you are having true love to someone or if someone truly loves you.
It’s the topic which has been associated to her since she fell in love. However much she believes in true love and finding the right person, it seems that it’s not pointing to her direction.
She continued to listen.
But the Lord said to Samuel, “…The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
- I Samuel 16:7b (NIV)
Love is best seen as devotion and action, not an emotion. Love is not exclusively based on how we feel. Certainly our emotions are involved, but they cannot be our only criteria for love. True devotion will always lead to action—true love.
Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.
- I John 3:18 (NIV)
At the end of the service, she feels good and hopeful that even with the past heartaches, this is the time when she knows she’ll be able to handle things well or even better... It’s not about her finding love or love finding her. It’s best to focus on Jesus. He is the one who will lead her to him. Only God knows what is real and what is pure.
But something played in her mind. “Hmm... Lord I am not sure if I should do this. But help me and lead him to me.” She then closed her eyes and thought that the first man her eyes will see shall be the man she’ll spend the rest of her life with.
“Hi Sarah!” Someone with familiar voice called her.
Ugh! She doesn’t want to open her eyes yet. (Sighing)
“Sam?!” She shouted in her mind.
He then reached her side and wondered why she looks annoyed.
“Are you okay?” Sam asked.
“I was… I mean, I am.” Sarah wants to glare at herself for feeling nervous and somewhat annoyed. Talking to herself,”Lord si Samuel ba ang sinasabi niyo? Tunay ba ‘to? Ugh! Bakit ba kasi naisipisip ko pa yun..”
“Anong atin Sam?”
“Well, I just wanted to invite you. I am having a small gathering at my place. Close friends lang. Dinner time.”
“Oh. Para saan? Anong meron?”
“Something special. But it’s a surprise. So stop asking.” Winked at her and smiled.
That smile which can melt an iceberg. Sarah grimaced at what’s going on inside her head.
“Check ko muna. I’ll let you know. Kelan ba yan?”
“This coming Friday, around 8 o’clock. I hope you’re free!”
"I am not sure yet".
"Ok. I am still hoping you could come. Regards to Tito and Tita!" He then gave her a peck on the cheeks and go.
