IPR30 - Honesty

"Tita, huwag po sana ninyong masamain ang sasabihin ko." Napansin niya ang lihim na pagtinginan ng mag-anak. Hindi muna niya ito pinansin saka nagpatuloy.

"Sa tingin ko po kasi hindi ito tungkol sa pang-aakit ba o panunulot o pang-aagaw ni Hazel kay Sam. Maliwanag na gusto niyo na mag-artista siya. Hindi ko po alam kung ito po ay ni-plano niyo o kay Hazel lang." Nakita ni Sarah ang pagyuko ng Tita niya. Maging ng Tito niya at ang pag-ilap ng mata ni Hazel.

"Sarah, anak..." Mommy Divine went to Sarah and touch her arms. She looked seriously at her daughter. Of course Hazel's mother is her sister. And it doesn't sound right to hear her daughter talk like that. "Anak, alam mo naman na hindi tama na basta na lang mag-akusa diba." May halong pag-aalala na patuloy ni Mommy Divine.

"Oo nga naman Sarah." Daddy Delfin seconded.

"I know, 'Mmy, 'Ddy. Kaya nga po, humingi agad ako ng paumanhin. Handa rin po akong makinig sa paliwanag. Mas handa akong tulungan si Hazel kung kailangan niya. Gusto ko lang po maging maliwanag na hindi ko po gusto ang nangyari kanina at sana huwag ng maulit pa." Mahinahon ang pananalitang sabi ni Sarah sa harap ng lahat. She sighed. Sam took her hand and press it. He continued where Sarah left of.

"We are not mad Mom, Dad, Tito, Tita. In fact, we want this thing to be solved as a family. Let's talk things through."

Nakayukong lumapit si Hazel sa kanila. Hindi naman napigilan ni Sarah ang yakapin ang pinsan. Naramdaman niya ang mahinang paghikbi nito.

"I'm sorry Sarah, Sam. You're right. I planned everything. I thought being linked with both your names will give it a go easily. I can enter showbiz easily." She humbly said while still crying.

Sarah sighed. She patted her back. She looked at her Tita and Tito. Then she let her go to make her face her directly.

"We can't undo what happened. But it will help us clear the issue if you will come out and explain that you weren't there for Sam but for trying to audition and you were looking for me. You found out I wasn't there and looked for Sam instead. Not many people know that you are my cousin. They know you as someone trying to separate me and Sam. Hindi naman sa pagmamalaki, isa ang relationship namin sa mga matitibay at marami ang humahanga dito. Kaya para sa isang tao na gugustuhin na masira ito, masyadong negative ang magiging tingin sayo. So better be honest in that way. And I think its a good start to come out clean."

"How will I do that?" Hazel asked Sarah.

"You can come with me and Sam tomorrow." Sarah said.

"That's right. For sure, reporters will try to grab an interview. I suggest you focused more on saying that you want to be an artist that is why you're here. Let them know how much you want it. You'll see good things will come along the way." Sam said with affirmity.

Napagdesisyuhan ng pamilya na sundin ang mga suggestions nina Sam at Sarah.

LIKE what Sam and Sarah had foreseen, people received Hazel's version of story well. All their names were cleared. She managed to arrive smoothly in Showbiz. She was invited to guest some talkshows and variety shows. Hazel and her parents were so thankful to both of them.

Ngayon ay may kaunting salo-salo sa bahay nila Sarah kasama ang ilang malalapit na kamag-anak at kaibigan para sa lunch thanksgiving ng gumagandang takbo ng career ni Hazel.

"Sam, sweetie, thank you." Sarah told her boyfriend while they are at the balcony. Her hands both clinging to his nape and they are facing each other. It's past 6PM at kitang kita pa ang kagandahan ng sunset sa pwesto nila.

"For what sweetheart?" Masuyong tinitigan ni Sam ang dalaga.

"You see, akala ko dati, I have been doing so well when it comes to choosing the right thing to do." She said as she looked away.

"And you really are doing great sweetheart." Inayos ni Sam ang buhok ni Sarah na kumakawala at nililipad ng hangin.

Sarah smiled little and looked straight to his eyes. "I am better now because of you. May mga bagay ka na nakikikita na minsan hindi ko napapansin. Saka ko lang mare-realize na mas tama yung desisyon mo, yung mga naiisip mo. Yung ganun."

He palmed her left cheek. He squared his shoulders and let out a sign before talking. "The truth is, you made me a better man, Sweetheart. Because of you, I had the will to discern the best decisions, benifiting not only us but the people around us too. I used to make haste decisions coz I was thinking, at the end of the day, whatever happens, I'll keep on moving on. However hard the situation is." That made Sarah frown.

"When I finally had that courage to approach you, it seemed everything that I want to happen in my life, is being directed by God. Kahit may mga panahon na naguguluhan ako, God will always find a way to make it right. I am this way now coz you happened in my life." He stressed saying 'you' to her.

They faced each other with a smile. He bent his head to kiss her forehead then to her lips. It was just a light one but lingered a little more and then he hugged her tight not minding if her family will see them or not.

"I really thank the Lord that He lead you to me. No man can ever be better than you." Sarah said laced with love and hapiness.

"So do I, Sweetheart.  So do I. No lady can ever beat you. Not only in my heart but in every aspect of my being." He said and motioned to kiss her more on the lips.
