Ch 13 Brother VS Brother

During the next few days, after the tournament began, Jaden beat ten different opponents. Then Jaden saw the one person he thought that he would never see again, Zane. Zane had changed and it was not for the best. Jaden said "Zane, what happened to you?" Zane said "I got smart and changed who I am. Now, I have more power than even you." Jaden said "you want to duel me but I don't think that would be wise of you Zane. After all, I have beaten you twice." Zane said in an angry tone "I don't care about the past. The future is all I care about and I will do anything to get ahead in life so I have to show no fear."

Jaden said "where is the duelist that respected his cards and his opponent?" Zane said "he is dead and the new me has risen to power and now the only thing standing between me and my goal is you, Jaden." Jaden said "I have heard enough of this. I won't fight you, Zane. Someone else needs to put you in your place." Zane then said "and who do you suppose that will be?" Then Syrus showed up and was shocked to see his big bro back on the island talking to Jaden.

Syrus ran to Jaden and said "what is Zane doing here?" Jaden looked at him and said "he is here to take my title as King of Games. Speaking of which, why don't you duel Zane and show him what dueling is all about?" Zane laughed at this and said "that little shrimp could never beat me in a duel and you know it."  Jaden said "you have no faith in people, Zane, but I do. Syrus I know you can do this." Syrus was happy that Jaden was showing him support because he thought his brother was becoming evil. Syrus said "Zane, I challenge you to a duel." Zane said "fine by me if you want to embarrass yourself."

Jaden gave the two of them room to duel but then Zane pulled out something that he couldn't make out. Zane said "if you want to duel me you have to duel my way with shock callers and every time you lose life points you get shocked. So what do you say to that little bro, still want to duel me?" Syrus said "if it brings back my brother than I will do anything I can to bring you back from this dark path you have taken." 

Both of them started their duel disks and said "duel."  Zane said "my turn, I draw." I play Infernal Dragon in Defense mode (0def). I play one face down and end my turn." Syrus said "my turn, I draw. I summon Truckroid in attack mode (1000atk). Now, I attack your Infernal Dragon. When Truckroid destroys a monster I can equip that card so that you can't use it. Now my Truckroid has 3000 attack points. I play one face down and end my turn."

Zane said "my turn, I draw. I summon Exploder Dragon in attack mode (1000atk).Now I attack your Truckroid. Now I don't take battle damage because Exploder Dragon was sent to my graveyard. Now Truckroid is destroyed because of Exploder Dragon's effect. Now I play Quick Summon to summon Cyberdark Horn in attack mode (800atk). Now I take Infernal Dragon and equip it to my Cyberdark Horn (2800atk). Now I attack you directly." Syrus said "I play my face down Life Force, now the battle damage I take is nullified and I take only 400 life points." Syrus got shocked and was in pain and Zane ended his turn.

Syrus said "my turn, I draw. I summon Submarineroid in attack mode (800atk). Now my monster can go around your monsters and attack you directly." His monster hit Zane and shocked him but he showed no sign of pain. Syrus said "didn't that hurt?" Zane said "after a while you get use to the pain and you can enjoy it." Syrus said "ok my Submarineroid now switches into defense mode (1800def) and I end my turn with a face down."

Zane said "my turn, I draw. I summon Cyberdark Edge in attack mode (800atk). Now I can equip my Edge with my Exploder Dragon. Now Edge's attack is (1800atk). Cyberdark Horn attack his Submarineroid." Syrus said "I play my face down Cyber Repairer to prevent all machine type monsters I control from being destroyed in battle." Zane said "my monster has piercing damage so you take damage between my monsters attack and your monster defense points." Syrus said "I use Life Force to not take damage." Syrus takes another 400 points of damage due to the effect of Life Force. Zane said "I will have Cyberdark Edge attack you directly by only using half of it's attack. I can now attack you directly." Syrus said "I use Life force again to not take damage." Syrus was shocked again and lost another 400 life points.

Zane said "I will play a face down and end my turn." Syrus said "my turn, I draw. I play Pot of Greed to draw two cards. I summon Cycroid in attack mode. Now I activate Training Wheels to equip Cycroid and now I can attack you directly." Both Submarineroid and Cycroid attack Zane directly. Now his Cyroid is removed from play till Syrus' next standby phase. Next, Syrus uses Submarineroid's effect to switch him into defense mode and then he set one card and ended his turn.

Zane said "my turn, I draw. I play Pot of Greed to draw two cards. Now I summon Cyberdark Keel in attack mode (800atk). Now I attack your Submarineroid with Cyberdark Horn." But Syrus uses Life Force to only take 400 points of damage. But with Subamarineroid gone Syrus is wide open. Zane attacks Syrus directly and Syrus uses Life Force to only take 400 points of damage to each attack. With that Zane set one card and ended his turn.

Syrus said "my turn, I draw. Now Cycroid and Training wheels return to my field. Now I activate Power Bond to fuse Cycroid with another Cycroid to fusion summon Pair Cycroid in attack mode (1600atk). But because I used Power Bond, my monsters attack is doubled (3200atk). My monster can attack you directly by giving up five hundred attack points from the monster. So, now attack him directly." Zane said "I play Power Wall by sending 27 cards to the grave. In so doing, I can reduce your attack damage to zero." Syrus said "I activate my face down Mirror Damage to equip it to Pair Cycroid. Now the damage I take from Power Bond is dealt to you." Zane said "I play my face down Fusion Guard to negate the effect and I send Cyber End Dragon to the grave." Syrus ended his turn.

Zane said "my turn, I draw. I play Warp Beam and target Cyberdark Keel and Horn and send Infernal Dragon and Exploder Dragon to my graveyard. Now my monsters can attack you directly." Syrus used Life Force again against the attacks and only took 800 points of damage. Due to it's effect, Cyberdark Edge attacked him directly. Now Syrus used Life Force and he lost another 400 life points and the pain from the shock caller was almost too much to bare.

Zane said "I play my face down Rebirth Judgment to declare dragons for it's effect and now all my monsters in the grave are dragons. I next play Instant Fusion to fuse Cyberdark Horn, Edge, and Keel to summon Cyberdark Dragon in attack mode (1000atk) Now I can equip a dragon to my monster and I choose Cyber End Dragon. Now my monsters attack is at 5000 points but due to anther effect of Cyberdark Dragon I gain 100atk for each card in my graveyard (8800atk)."

Zane said "Now, Cyberdark Dragon attack Pair Cycroid." But Syrus activates his face down Emergency Provisions to send Mirror Damage to the grave and to gain 1000 life points (400- 1400LP). But because of the removal of Mirror Damage, Pair Cycroid is destroyed. Zane could now attack Syrus directly. Syrus uses Life Force again to only take 400 points of damage. Syrus thought he had won but then Zane said "I use the spell card De-Fusion to summon back Cyberdark Horn, Edge, and Keel and now they attack you directly." With that the duel was over and Zane took his leave. Jaden was worried about Syrus who needed medical attention. Jaden needed to put a stop to this madness but he knew that he could not do it alone. Jaden knew that he needed the help of Chazz but would have to duel him first to free him from the Society of Light.
