Your POV
I was heading to the kitchen when I heard the door bell ring. I rushed to open the door expecting a special someone.
A smile was immediately plastered on my face as soon as I opened the door.
"Luhan!" I smiled brightly as I hugged him tight.
I heard him chuckle as he hugged me back. "Happy Birthday Jagi..." He said and planted a kiss on my forehead.
I bit my lower lip, trying to stop myself from tearing up. "I t-thought you f-forgot..." I said.
I really thought he did. It's almost dinner time... I've been waiting for him to greet me all day...
"Why would I forget your birthday? I was just busy, but I didn't really forget." He said and messed up my hair.
I separated from the hug and looked right at him. "Thanks oppa, you don't know how happy you've made me..."
"Really?" He asked which I replied with a nod.
"Well guess what? I have something with me that'll make you even happier..." He said and immediately showed me a present neatly wrapped in Pink Gift wrapper.
"Don't open it yet..."
"Oh okay... but you know you shouldn't have right?" I said.
"But you know I'll give you anything to make you happy..." he said and winked at me.
"Really?" I asked and put the present on the couch.
"Nae..."
"Then come and eat dinner with me... please..." I begged. It maybe my birthday but I had no one to celebrate it with me.
"Uhhh... that I c-can't." He said in a soft tone as he held the back of his neck.
My mood suddenly crashed. I was hoping he'd say yes... but I guess I had my hopes high.
"You see... I uhhh, I still have to shoot for an MV and.... we'll have dinner in the set. I'm so sorry Jagi... I'll make it up to you next time."
"Oh." I said and tried to put on a genuine smile although it was pretty obvious it turned out to be a fake one.
"I guess I have to go now. I'm really sorry." He said and gave me a pat on my head before leaving.
I sighed as soon as the door shut.
I faked a laugh. "I guess I never learned... he's always been like that. Why did I even bother to ask him to stay?" I laughed akwardly but then found myself sobbing after awhile.
I went to the dining table and looked at all the delicious food I've prepared, thinking he was able to spend the night with me. It wasn't much actually but it was definitely something compared to an ordinary meal.
I sighed. I really wanted to eat but I already lost my appetite anyway so I decided to sulk in my own room all night, but before I could even open the door, I caught a glimpse of the gift Luhan bought for me.
I thought twice about getting it, but I ended up bringing it along with me anyway.
I sat on the corner of my bed and placed the gift on my lap.
I slowly unwrapped the present, careful enough not to tear the gift wrapper.
"I knew it." I said.
"...Another teddy bear..." I sighed. It's not that I didn't appreciate his present, actually I have to admit he doesn't give me ordinary teddy bears, he would often give me huge ones of all kinds that are usually quite expensive but it would always be a teddy bear... not that I'm complaining, I mean I love stuffed animals but I guess the reason why Luhan would give me presents like this is that he might probably think that this bears can act as a substitute since he always spends less time with me... in that case...
"I don't need these teddy bears..." I said and looked at my shelves full of teddy bears of different colors and sizes.
"I wouldn't mind if you wouldn't give me any present on my birthday or on any special occasion oppa..." I said out loud.
Because all I need is you.
...Your time, your presence... just you.
Unfortunately it's the only thing you can't give me.
Sometimes I just wonder if you really do care about me...
You said you do, but can you atleast show me?
It's funny that these teddy bears may not be living creatures, but sometimes they're the only ones I have to keep me company.
I know Teddy's don't hug you back but sometimes they're all I've got....
