Savannah's pov

We had just woke up from our first day back. I saw I was the only one up. Nate was still asleep beside me. And most likely everybody else was also. I walked downstairs and into the kitchen. I pulled out the oatmeal for Nate and James; The strawberry smoothie for Kaylan; And the grape smoothie for Mahogany.

I fixed the oatmeal for Nate and James and sat it out on the island for them. I put a spoon in the bowl for them and walked back upstairs. I first woke up the twins, then James, then finally Nate. And Nate was not to happy. He wanted to sleep. And I understood he needed sleep since he drove almost 21 hours yesterday. Even after I offered to drive for 10 hours. He denied it for me.

I walked back to the twins room and picked them up. Well picked them up and let them walk down the stairs. Once we got downstairs I sat them in their high chair and handed them their food for this morning. As I was fixing to go make my morning coffee, the doorbell rung. I walked to the front door and saw throughout the glass, it was Nate's parents. I welcomed them in and shut the door. I looked at Nate and saw he was not too happy.

"Dad, mom. Why are you here?" Nate asked his parents.

"Well, Son. We are here for our meeting this week. Your dad never rescheduled the appointment for the meeting so." Kami answered. Nate mumbled an oh and continued eating his breakfast. Kami motioned me to come over to her and I did. She asked me, "What's going on with Nate and Monte?"

I whispered to her, "Nate got a call from Monte this pass week. Talking about the meeting and Nate said something about the first day of school and how Nate wanted to take James to his first day of school. And how that day was also the day y'all have the meeting. And apparently the meeting is at 6:45 and the school starts at 7:30." Kami shook her head and I continued.

"They got into an argument about Nate saying he was not gonna miss his first day of school. Because James is his son and he will never miss his first day of school because Monte never missed Kaylan, Nate, and Stew's first day of school. And Monte told Nate that he shouldn't even care. James isn't even his son. Nate went off on him and said he was." Kami gasped like she didn't know anything about it.

"You're serious?" She asked me. I nodded my head and she turnt around and yelled to Monte, "MONTE! IM FURIOUS WIth YOU." Nate looked at me and mouthed to me, "What's going on?" i shrugged my shoulders and he turned to James and said, "Go upstairs and get dressed. I'll go outside and play basketball with you." James hopped down out of his chair and went upstairs.

I got the twins out of their high chairs and put them in the living room with the puppy and the baby gate surrounding the living room.

I walked into the kitchen and sat beside Nate. He asked me again what was going on. But I didn't answer him. About 5 minutes later, Kami and Monte came up from the basement and they stood on the other side of the island and Monte spoke up and said, "Nate, son. I'm sorry. It's just you've never cared for someone like you care for Savannah and James."

Nate put his fork down and said, "Then why did you say "I shouldn't care about James. He's not even your son." Just because he isn't my son doesn't mean anything, dad! James is my son. Biological or not. That is why he has MY last name. OUR LAST NAME DAD! James is mine. Nothing can change that. Nothing. And just so we're clear, I'm gonna be late to the meeting Tuesday. This family of 5 in this household, comes before anything. Including my work." He got up from the island and went upstairs and slammed a door.

Monte looked like he was bout to cry. Kami looked at me with sad eyes and said. "Savannah, what else is troubling Nate? There is something else going on with our son." I got up and walked over to the table where they were now sitting and sat down in front of them. "Well, Nash and Olivia are out of jail. And they had a son together. About 5 years ago. He hid it from me too. But I got Nate and i'm fine with that. It's just, when we went to the open house for James' kindergarten thing, they gave out the class list. And Nash and Olivia's son's name was on the list. And the thing is, Olivia and Nash never showed up." Kami looked at me with shocked eyes. Monte looked upset.

"Savannah, why didn't you tell us!" Monte asked me. I was fixing to speak up when I heard Nate say, "Because I try to settle things by myself." We all looked at Nate and he came over and sat beside me.

"Dad, mom. It's just, me and Savannah are working on it. Our lawyer is getting to work on it. You guys need to stop babying me. I'm trying to get away from always relying on both of you." Monte looked between Nate and me and said, "Nate were your parents. I bet Sammy and Savannah's parents knows ab-" I cut him off and said, "No one knows. Sammy was the one who brought it to our attention that they were both out of jail. My parents don't even know Monte."

Monte shut up. "Dad, please. Just let me and Savannah get through this on our own. We're trying our hardest to raise 3 kids under the age of 5. If me and Savannah need your help, we will call you." Monte sighed and said, "Okay. Just know, I'm sorry Nathan. I truly am. I just don't know if I can reschedule the meeting."

"Well. I think this conversation should just end here. I have to go outside with James. I'll be back later." He got up and pushed his chair under and walked up stairs. Kami looked at me and said, "Me and Monte will come back later. Can we come over for supper? I think Nate needs some time too cool off." I nodded and led them out.

"Kami, i'm sorry about Nate. I'll try to fix Nate's attitude by supper. Come around 7. I'll make sure he's fine by this afternoon." She nodded her head and got in their car. And drove off. I shut the door and turned around to be collided with Nate.

"Nate your parents are coming for supper. I couldn't deny them. They are your parents. We'll get through this together. I promise." "Promise?" I nodded my head and he pulled me in and kissed me. He tried picked me up and tried taking me up the stairs till one of the twins started crying. He dropped me.

Nate and I walked downstairs and saw Mahogany had fell over the gate. Nate picked her up and soothed her. But then James came down the stairs and he went outside. Nate followed him but brought Mahogany out with him. Meanwhile me and Kaylan stayed in the house. We watched mickey mouse and cailou all day long until 3 came in when Nate came in sweaty as i don't know what with James the same way and Mahogany was asleep.

I made Nate and James take a shower but I just fed Mahogany. Kaylan was still watching some show. I waited in the living room till Nate came into the living to start cooking our supper. And when he did, he was in his usual clothing attire. Shorts and no shirt. I shook my head and went into the kitchen and started cooking supper.

*9:45*
Kami and Monte had went downstairs to the guest bedroom downstairs and right now me and Nate were fixing to fall asleep. I was in his arms fixing to tell him goodnight and that I loved him, but he started his cute snoring. I shook my head and just kissed his forehead goodnight. Falling asleep right beside Nathan.

a/n sorry for this short and horrible chapter but there will be a cute and good chapter coming up soon. Also comment what you want to happen in this story! Also there will be a surprise in a few chapters! Plus i might rewrite this chapter! and btw i have things planned out for this story so yeah. there will be twists and all. especially in the next chapter!
