Savannah's pov
Guess what today is. Done guessing? Well times up. James' first day of school is today. I can't believe I have waited 5 whole years for this day. On the other hand, Nate has been waiting for this day roughly about 3 years. I can't believe it.
I got up out of mine and Nate's bed to realize Nate wasn't in our bed anymore, but a strong aroma of pancakes were coming from downstairs and into the kitchen. I walked downstairs and saw Sammy was cooking the pancakes and Nate, James, and the twins were sitting waiting for him to finish cooking the food. I shook my head.
I went and sat down beside Nate at the kitchen island and told Sammy not to fix me any and he nodded. Nate looked at me with "those" eyes. I knew what those eyes meant and Sammy probably did too.
Sammy passed out the pancakes to James and Nate and gave the twins some bananas to eat. And can I tell you those two girls love any shape or form of a banana. Sammy sat beside the twins and helped them eat the bananas while he ate his pancakes. I looked at our clock on the wall above the door and saw it was 7:00. I rushed the rest of them to finish eating and they did.
Meanwhile, I was upstairs picking out James' outfit and getting his bookbag packed since Nate didn't do that last night like I asked him to do. Once I finished with that, I went into mine and Nate's room and took me a shower. After getting a shower, I got dressed. I got dressed in purple-blueish shirt, my khaki shorts and my black jack rogers.
I put on some light makeup and went out of mine and Nate's bathroom and headed into the twins room and got them dressed. I dressed them both in , obviously a clean diaper and a new dress nate bought them. Which was blue and white chevron, with pink polka dot trim, and an owl at the hem. I never knew Nate had a good taste when it came out to picking out his own daughters clothing. Just wait till they are at the dating age.
I walked back into mine and Nate's room and got them their carseats and went back and put them in. I checked the time on their baby monitor and saw it was 7:31. Jesus. I buckled them up and picked up their diaper bag and called Nate into their room to carry them downstairs. He did, and I yelled at him to get himself dressed. He should've already been dressed. But he's Nate so he's lagging. I walked downstairs with their diaper bag and put it by the door, alongside James' bookbag and my purse. I waited 5 more minutes and Nate came down the stairs with James by his side and Sammy following behind him.
"Couldn't miss my only nephews first day of school now could I?" I shook my head and looked at James.
"James, you are starting Kindergarten. Where has time gone?" I asked him.
"Mom stop crying. Save that for later." He sassed back. Jesus. He's turning into me. God bless Nate.
"What you mean?" i asked James.
"Well you are gonna cry when you and dad leave the school." I looked at Nate and he nodded. I picked up the twins' bags, my bags, and James' bookbag and lunchbox Sammy graciously packed for us and walked out to my car. James came and got in the back seat with Sammy. Nate put the twins in the car while I got in the passenger seat. Nate finally got in his seat and drove off to James' school.
At james' school. We all got out. Well just me, Nate, and James. Nate handed James his lunchbox. Kinda hesitant knowing the next thing he would have to give him is his bookbag because once he hands him that, that's the end. He's officially started school. Me and Nate walked James into the school and he was greeted by the little girl we met on open house night. Hannah i think her name was. They ran off together. Probably down the hallway to their classroom.
