It's not you, it's me,
Isn't that what they all say?
But this time it's true,
For it is me and not you.
You don't know how many times,
I wished to tell,
Of all my secrets,
My regrets and things I don't even know yet.
Though I don't know how,
Or what I would say.
But it would be misunderstood,
Probably do more harm than good.
Just know that it's not about trust,
If it were than you would know everything.
I just want to protect you,
From all that I went through.
So don't be hurt that I say "I'm fine"
It's really for the best.
Bottling it up works for me,
I'm still here, can't you see?
You are amazing, the best I could ever have,
Now, please for me, don't be sad.
And don't worry your pretty little head,
For I am not yet dead.
It's all good,
No need for concern.
Trust me, when I'm ready to go,
You will know.
