Down by the river
Is where we first met.
That day down by the river
I'll never forget.
Down by the river
Is where we had our first kiss.
I'd always go down by the river
When it was you I would miss.
Down by the river
Is where we spent our days.
At night down by the river
Is where we would star gaze.
Down by the river
Is where we lived together.
Now down by the river
Is where our love lasts forever.
Down by the river
Is where lies your headstone
Soon down by the river
You will no longer be alone.
