James Maslow: Chances PT 15

You start to walk up the stairs to your room. 

"What did you want to talk about?" You ask as you grab your work uniform. 

"I just wanted to know how you and Kendall are going, have you told him about the baby?" James asks sitting on your bed when you walk into the bathroom to change. 

"No, I haven't told him yet; Sam was meant to meet up with him today and have lunch with him to ask if he's ready for that sort of commitment." You say from the other side of the door. 

"Oh I see..." James says thinking of how to say it. "Just wondering, do you see Kendall being the father of your children? Or the husband type?" 

"Well...I guess, I mean I love him and I think he'll be an amazing husband or father." You say walking out. "James, what's with the questions?"

You look at James curiously and he looks at you and sighs. 

"Nothing, I just think it'd be best if you told him." James nods before walking out the door. 

You watch James walk away confused; you grab your bag and follow him down the stairs. 

"Hey James, how have you been?" Carlos says as James walks in the living room. 

"I'm doing okay, yourself?" James smiles leaning on the wall as you stand next to him. 

"I'm doing great too, thanks." Carlos smiles. "I'll see you after work." 

"Yeah, I should be home just after 6:30pm." You say as you and James walk out the door. 

"Bye." You and James say at the same time. 

You look at James as you both get in, you can tell something was bothering him. 

"James, what's wrong?" You ask as James drives off. 

"What do you mean?" James asks. 

"I know you, and how you're acting, isn't you." You say watching him drive. 

"It's nothing." James says. 

"It's not nothing, so tell me." You say pleadingly. 

James pulls into the garage and looks at you. 

"Okay, so I have this friend who likes this girl who is dating a jerk." James starts. "He saw her boyfriend kiss another chick and confronted him but he's scared to tell the girl that her boyfriend is cheating on her because she might say he's lying and is just jealous."

"That's horrible." You say frowning. 

"I don't know what advice to give him because he could lose her as a friend but she'll know the truth but find out the hard way." James nods looking at you. 

"I think your friend should tell her, yeah, he might lose her as a friend for a little while but when she finds out, she'll come to your friend and apologize for not trusting him." You say nodding and smiling before getting out of the car. 

James stays in the car for a moment and sighs before getting out and walking with you inside. 

"It's about time you both got here, we have a car for you in the back." Jake says changing a tire. "I wrote what you have to do on it on a piece of paper in my office."

You nod and walk to Jake's office while James walks over to the car; you grab the paper and walk over to James. 

"Okay, lets get to work." James nods and looks over your shoulder at the paper. 

You and James have been working for about 2 hours on the car, both of you are greased up and sweaty. 

"This is a big job." You say wiping your forehead. 

"Biggest one I've done yet." James chuckles looking around. "Looks like it's just you, me and Jake here." 

"Okay babe, bye." Jake says hanging up the phone and grabbing his jacket. "Hey, can you both lock up? Emergency at home but the keys are on the desk." 

"Yeah, no problem, hope everything's alright." You say as James waves. 

Jake leaves. 

"Hope everything's okay with things at home." James says pressing the button to make the car go up. 

"Yeah me too, he's been saying they've been having marriage issues lately." You nod as you watch the car. 

It starts making an unusual sound, you furrow your brows as the starts rocking; James looks up at the car then at you. 

"Watch out!" James yells before rushing to you and pushing you out of the way as the car drops...
