You slowly turn around and see James standing there smiling.
"James! Oh my god hey!" You laugh jumping into his arms and hugging him.
James laughs hugging you tight.
"It's been so long." James smiles.
"What happened to you? I tried calling and texting and everything, you never replied." You ask pulling away.
"I wasn't in a good way, I went off rails but I got help and I'm all better now. I didn't want to talk to you while I wasn't good." James nods disappointed in himself.
Mia pulls lightly on your hand holding the chocolate.
"Mommy, I picked it." Mia says as you lift her up.
"Wow, is she yours?" James says looking at Mia.
"This is Mia." You smile as Mia shyly hides her face in your neck.
"She looks just like you." James smiles.
"Mia, this is James." You say as she looks at him.
"Last time you and mommy was up, I didn't get to see you." James says. "She's so beautiful and big."
James plays with her hand.
"Does Carlos know you're here? Because he never mentioned anything." James asks.
"Uncle Los!" Mia yells. "Surprise!"
You laugh and walk to the counter and buy the chocolate.
"It's a surprise visit." You smile unwrapping the chocolate and buying a coffee.
"How long are you here for?" James asks walking out with you.
"For a week." You say as Mia eats.
"Do you need a lift? I'm happy to take you back to mine until Carlos finishes work." James offers. "My car is better than taking a cab."
You laugh and nod.
"Sure, it'll be a good chance for us to catch up." You say smiling.
James opens the door for Mia; Mia sits in and eating her chocolate as you do her seat belt. James smiles and shuts the door.
"You raised an amazing girl." James says opening the passenger door for you.
You smile getting in.
"Thanks, it wasn't easy but I gave it my best shot." You say as James makes his way to the drivers seat.
"You did great on your own." James says. "Was it on your own?"
"Are you asking if I have a boyfriend?" You smirk as James drives.
"Well...Yeah, or a male figure around Mia." James says curiously.
"Nope, still on my own. Just me and my princess." You smile. "How about you? How are you and Halston?"
"Oh that ended a while ago." James nods. "I knew she wasn't the right one but I liked the feeling I guess."
"Sorry to hear that." You say. "Are you alright?"
"Yeah, I mean it ended a few months ago." James smiles.
You slightly smile to yourself as James arrives at his place.
"Welcome to my new place." James laughs as you look up at his house.
"James, this is like a mansion." You say surprised as you get out and grab Mia from the back.
"Right? I'm surprised at myself." James chuckles opening the door. "Mia, I have someone for you to meet and he loves kids."
James opens the door and an Alaskan Klee Kai runs at James before sniffing your feet. Mia squeals as you gently put her down as Fox licks her face.
"He's adorable." You grin leaning down to pat him with Mia. "What's his name?"
"His name's Fox." James smiles as Fox warms up to you and Mia. "Do you want Fox and Mia to play together while we head to the dining area to talk?"
You smile and nod as James tells Fox to stay. James gets you both a glass of water as you watch Mia play fetch with a ball and Fox.
"He loves her." James smiles sitting beside you looking at you watching them.
"He's adorable, a lot like his owner." You say laughing.
James grins.
"Sounds like someone still has a crush." James smirks chuckling.
You blush slightly looking down.
"But you do look great, definitely been working out more." You smile softly.
"I have actually. I pulled a plane." James nods.
"A plane? Like a full sized airplane?" You ask surprised.
"Yep. I also have a tour coming up if you'd like to come to one of my shows. I could score you tickets and if you're lucky, VIP." James winks playfully grinning.
"Wait, a tour? You're a musician?" You ask.
"Yeah, so it'd mean a lot if you came to a show." James smiles.
"I'll be there. Wouldn't miss it for the world." You smile...
