Adventure. Action. Romance. Dragons!
Once, Gandalf hired a burglar, now he needs a scout! It was a simple task, nothing more than spying upon treacherous lands. But Safirah felt she was meant to do something more. Running away from home she followed...
The LOTR Qoute "And as for valour, that cannot be computed by stature. He has passed through more battles and perils than you have, Ingold, though you be twice his height; and he comes now from the storming of Isengard, of which we bear tidings. And great weariness is on him, or I would wake him. His name is Peregrin, a very valiant man." - Gandalf describing Pippin to Ingold
[][][] I looked at him, his solemn face was pale and tired but he managed to give me a thin smile, then without saying a word, he wrapped his arms around me. I felt his pain as I stood surprised by his sudden embrace.
'Safirah, I'm glad to see you again,' he whispered to my ear. I could hear sorrow in his voice, deep in his heart. Hesitant, I hugged him back tapping his lower back.
Silence fell for a while.
'I was relieved by the thought that you have not come here, and here you are. I am happy you are safe,' I whispered back. It wasn't a lie. Aramis squeezed me a little more, breathing deep and long. He locked me in his arms until Armien came holding a tray laden with white plates. I suddenly let go, the young elf flashed a faint smile.
I cleared my throat and pretend I didn't notice. I turned to Aramis. 'Well, you're late to break the fast...everyone must be waiting for you,' I said forcing a smile. Armien went ahead without looking back, I'm glad she didn't.
'I had to look after one of my men, he was...severely wounded. He had many wounds more than I would be happy to count, and besides, I don't breakfast this early. I know the...,' he paused staring at me. 'wait, why are on servant's clothes? That is not how an elf should treat a guest? Where is Legolas?'his voice was rather concerned.
'He went on a mission few days ago, he won't be back for a few more days. And please, it was my bidding, don't tell the elf about it.' I studied him. 'You've gotten yourself scratches!' On his neck, and later then I realised his right arm was wounded by a sword. 'Aramis, you are hurt. Let me get you something to tend your wounds. This is just awful.' I sounded like I didn't know, and he thanked me with a smile.
'This is nothing serious, a sword cut cannot possibly kill me, but I would appreciate your help.' He took my hands and gave them a gentle squeeze. 'I just have to see the King first and I'll send for you.'
'You can find me in the kitchen.'
He nodded and I watched him walk off. I quickly left and went back to the kitchen, anxious and worried. I didn't know Aramis was there, he could have been killed, by me.
My heart overflowed with guilt and fear, I was trying to help, and noone saw my real intentions except for one man, and I doubt he would hold on to his hunch.
I need to be prepared, noone could protect me now but myself.
I was sweeping down the hallways when I saw someone trotting above the wooden bridges, a group of elves crossing the bridge to the dining hall, Legolas, he's back. Suddenly, my spirit was lifted. I paused to watch him from below, then I found myself climbing up the stairs to meet him on the other side. I ran with my heart leaping with joy and excitement. It's been few days since he left but it felt like he was gone for a month.
