Plot: Kousei Arima was a genius pianist until his mother's death took away his ability to play. Each day was dull for Kousei. Buypt, then he meets a violinist named Kaori Miyazano who has an eccentric playing style. His monotonous life was about to change forever.
My Rating: 4.5/5 stars.
My Opinion: I am quite at a mix of feelings with this anime. It was a sad anime with some sweet feelings and the music was beautiful. The romance was not THAT big of a deal in the anime but I loved it anyways because as a musician myself, I connected with this anime a lot. The romance was there but it wasn't like a major focus in my opinion. Actually it was kind of slow but still, the anime was really sweet, sad, funny, and a bit romantic.
Favorite Character: Hmm... This is a hard one for me. I loved all of them. I loved Tsubaki because she was a sweet character and very tomboyish. She was funny and she has always been there for Kousei. I love Kaori though because she was a spunky and funny girl but also because she helped Kousei a lot. But I also loved Seto because she also was helpful to Kousei and Nagi. I am going have to say Seto because she was a pretty cool and helpful character to Nagi and Kousei.
Favorite Couple: Ooooh and this is a hard one too. I love Kaori and Kousei but I also like Kousei and Tsubaki but... Admittedly I was even thinking at a point on how cute it would be if Kousei and Nagi got together. I mean Kaori pulled Kousei out of his dull world. Tsubaki is his childhood friend though and they had a lot of cute and sweet scenes together when they were children. But Nagi is also adorable and kind of saw Kousei as an enemy and so I thought it would be cute if her views changed and they end up together instead. I am going have to say... Kousei and Tsubaki because they are childhood friends and were adorable together.
My Last Thoughts: This anime is sad and almost made me cry. Personally, I think that Clannad is still one of the most saddest anime I have ever seen and it still makes me cry but this anime is still pretty good and sad. I found Kousei's story with his mother and growing up... Basically how he became to be a pianist pretty a sad story and how hard it was for him. I felt even worse for him when you learn more about why he cannot play and about his childhood. It got creepy in some areas when he thought about his mom and you'll see her looking creepy in a dark area so hey... You get a slight... Tiny bit... Very, very tiny bit of a horror there. She scared me lol. Anyways, despite having small horror-like scenes, the anime was really pretty. I loved the music and the feels it gave you. It was a funny anime too but I felt so bad when everyone always seem to hit Kousei like he is some punching bag. The romance was slow like Clannad's where it was clear that it was there but it wasn't a main focus so it didn't have much kissing, hugging, or holding hands. But I have to say it wasn't the romance that made me watch this anime... It was a quote I saw from it and sparked my interest. I don't know if this is a quote from the anime or the manga or if someone else said this quote but if it is from the anime let me know what episode because I never saw it. If it is from the manga the. I need to read the manga. If it is a quote from someone else then... That person has an amazing way of thinking. It is my favorite quote and I thought it was from the anime and when I saw this anime had characters that looked like the characters in the pictures from the quote, I instantly wanted to watch it.
Life is like a piano. Black keys represents sadness, white keys represents joy. As you go through life, remember that black keys make some music too.
If you are looking for a sad, musical, funny anime then I highly suggest this anime. The music was so pretty and the anime was really good. It was funny, sad, touching, sometimes romantic but all in all beautiful.
