Jake gasped as he hit the ground, sliding backwards on his back, across the room.

He lay still, panting heavily as the clash of metal could be heard.

A blade pierced down on one side of his head, as a foot implanted itself into his chest.

The young woman crouched down, her fangs out and eyes red. "Another round?"

He panted. "Are you trying to kill me?"

Cassandra smirked. "Maybe. Best twenty one out of twenty three?"

"It's actually around thirty three out of thirty four. I'm going to die if we keep this up. You're a full-blooded vampire Cassie, and a vampire lord, I'm only part vampire," Jake breathed out.

The woman sighed, retracting her fangs. She honestly wanted to fight more but he was at his limit, if she kept this up, she'd kill him.

"Ok, get up and go take a shower," Cassandra sighed, giving a clap, watching the lights flicker on. She threw down the weapon and stepped off of him.

Cassandra ran her hand through her medium length brown- black hair. It was predominantly brown with darker , heavier almost black locks and steaks in it.

Jake sat up and winced. He was battered, bruised and exhausted.

He looked around the walled, dessert- like room.

Weapons littered the even dirt floor.

The training room.

Ugh, he hated this room. Jake had been trapped here, training with Cassandra, for over the past 24 hours. He had only won twice!! and that was because he had surprised her and set a trap before hand.

And then he had gotten his ass kicked the rest of the time.

He stood up. There was one door- the entry and exit point.

Cassandra had disappeared.

Moving at inhuman speed, he was in the bathroom adjoining his bedroom.

Stripping, he hopped in and let the warm water run down his head and cascade down his body, over his now healing cuts and bruises.

It didn't usually take him this long to heal. Damn it, Cassandra had really took her time to batter him good.

What was she doing? Experimenting to see the effects of how long it would take him to heal?

Jake knew his eyes flashed red as he got a bit angry. Ugh!

"What're you complaining about I was in half those fights and I took a lot of damage," Axel whined. "Why didn't you let me at least try and kill her?"

"It's called a sparring session, Axel. No killing, especially my sister," Jake said angrily.

"Fine," Axel sighed.

"Leave him be, Axel, or else," his wolf growled "You're annoying,"

"Whose side are you on anyway?" Axel said "What is this, gang up on Axel day? Don't you two dare take out your frustrations on me,"

"It's enough," Jake sighed "We're all tired. I know I didn't use my powers properly,"

"You got that damn right," his wolf and Axel said at the same time.

Axel continued. "You either never use your powers and push yourself to the limit or when you always hold back so much,"

Jake was silent as he soaped and rinsed off, stepping out of the shower.
