The quiet dark morning was broken by bright flashing red and blue lights on Elfridge Drive. Neighbors streamed towards 416. The peaceful community was thrown into confusion and dark mystery.

What on earth could've happened? Who could've done it?

The small community suddenly turned into a large crowd, pressing against the barricades set in place. More cops showed up, trying to remove people to actually try to get into the crime scene.

Meanwhile, inside the house, an Oriental fan kicked into a corner was picked up. Jake turned it over in his hands before moving to the first landing at vampiric speed. His fangs retracted and eyes reverted back. He put the fan inside his jacket.

Jake shook his head, clearing away the dazed headache. What had happened?

He watched as police officers streamed into the house, more surrounding something on the floor.

Jake sniffed the air. Blood. And from the scent of it- a couple hours old. It had to be around after 12 now.

Wait a minute.

That blood.

It was familiar.

A pool of it surrounding a body.

A woman.

Face down, her gray hair thrown around her paling face.

An officer climbed the stairs, examining for clues. His name was Miller.

He went onto the first landing, it looked like a struggle had taken place.

How was that even possible?

The woman was so old, so how was she able to put up this much of a fight?

By the damage there was more than one attacker. A gasp pulled him from his thoughts.

Jake gasped.

He needed to move. Get out of here before people saw him.

Move! his mind screamed.

His body didn't move.

How could he?

Jane Freeman was dead.

The old hag was dead.

Officer Miller walked towards a boy.

What was a teenage boy doing in a crime scene?

"Hey kid. What're you doing here?" Miller called out, he was next to him.

Jake was frozen. "Grandma," he murmured.

"Wait, that woman's your grandmother?" Miller said, looking at the body being taken away.

Was it possible, the boy was asleep an awoken by the commotion?

Miler held him. "Hey kid," he shook him gently.

Jake looked up at him. He had been caught. The boy tried to pull away.

Miller spoke into his communicator. "I found this kid. It looks like he's the victim's grandson," he said giving Jake's physical description.

"Copy that. Bring him down to the station. He may be a potential witness," a voice replied back.

Miller crouched down to Jake's eye level.

"I'm going to help you. I need you to come with me,"

Jake shook his head. He was in shock.

How long had he been like that? Five, ten minutes?

That was all it took for him to be caught. Now came the involvement of human government.
