Jake grumbled as he hung over Kyle's shoulder, as they proceeded deeper into the cave.

"I hate when you do stuff like this," Jake huffed.

"I hate when you act like this- a whiner," Kyle said.

His brother pouted- but didn't reply.

"Alpha, you're late," a voice sang.

"Shut up, Ten," Kyle said glaring, as a replica of Otto with a tan, stepped out of the shadows.

"You're mean," Ren pouted.

Kyle groaned. Why him?

Delta and Gamma. His third and fourth in command. Twins. Ren and Otto.

The level headed child in a man's body and the calm adult. Two polar insane opposites, but they were dependable, which is why he sent Ren ahead. Did he do it though?

"Yes, Kyle , I did as you asked, they're in there," he jerked his thumb towards the right, up ahead, where the cave forked in two.

"Who's where now?" Jake asked.

"You didn't tell him?" Ren raised an eyebrow.

"No, I'm technically being kidnapped right now, so if you could kindly tell me-" Jake started.

Ren chuckled. "We're -"

"Talk and I'll butcher you where you stand," Kyle said simply walking towards the right tunnel.

Ren shut up.

"At least help me," Jake begged.

"Try and I'll chop your limbs off," Kyle stated.

"Oh come on!" Jake yelled.

"Sorry, but I really like living and walking and skipping and jumping and breathing," Ren said cautiously.

"How can you be scared, when he's perfectly calm?! He doesn't even have a threatening tone!" Jake screamed.

"He doesn't have to be for me to know he's serious," Ren said darkly.

"You coming, Ren?" Kyle suddenly called back.

"Are you going to kill me?"

Kyle stopped and turned slightly. "If I wanted to, you'd be bleeding already dead on the cold stony ground," he said darkly.

Jake shivered as Ren followed them. He got the point.

The cave was descending and getting deeper as they moved.
It was a bit steep too.

The path eventually evened out at the bottom- lighted now by candles as the bright green and white specks of luminous rocks decreased greatly.

A dark silhouette darted between the stalagmites of the cave floor, eyeing the trespassers.

Kyle stopped, smelling and sensing another presence.

"Dude, duck!" Ren yelled behind him suddenly.

The shadow hurtled itself toward the brothers, aiming at Kyle's head. It had attacked from the left side - Kyle's blind spot.
He did have Jake over his left shoulder after all.

Kyle hit the ground, narrowly avoiding the sharp appendages aimed at his throat and face. Had they continued their journey, both he and Jake would be hurt.

In the process he dropped Jake, of course falling untop of him.

"Aaagh! There's a brick on my head!" Jake screamed. He couldn't breathe.
