Within the din, the putrid stench of blood permeated the air. There was no one defined type- fae, werewolf, vampire and others merged into one enlarging pool of blood. His nose felt overwhelmed and his ears would soon follow as the screams and shouts of all the warriors below grew louder.

He watched as pack members were slain, some by bolts of magic others shredded by the claws of rogue monsters or their own desire for blood. Organs and blood littered the battlefield,  swirling in puddles and  whirlpools of red and suffering.

A bright body of light appeared before him resounding with the sound of beating glittering wings. The light multiplied devouring everything in their near vicinity.

Jake closed his eyes and covered his ears- trying to drown out the sound and sight of suffering while praying for it to stop...

SCREE!

Jake winced as he went off- key: the high- pitched noise knocking him back to reality. He lowered the ivory bow and violin to the ground as he tried to clear the ringing in his sensitive ears.

He lowered himself, lying flat on his back, as the cool night air caressed his face. The entire reason he had even come here to practice was to forget that stupid dream in the first place!

"Technically, it's a vision, not a dream," Luca stated.

"Non! Uh-oh! None of it!" Jake interjected.

"You need to-"

" I said NONE OF IT!" Jake screamed internally. "I know the pot dust that crazy old Seer creature sprayed me with, awakened this vision stuff, but you can screw off with it for all I care. I have too much shit on my plate at present to be worried about the future. First the Assassin's League, who by the way, murdered my grandmother and then we'll deal with paranormals and supernaturals killing each other 'cuz of their own hubris. Got it?"

"Ok,"

Jake inhaled deeply. He had final exams in seventy two hours and needed to get his act together. He might be able to function on three hours of sleep but he needed to study, that, however , was impossible to do that with visions of suffering plaguing his mind.

Music was supposed to calm him, relax his agitated soul but nope! He still had to see flashes of war.

Just great! C'est parfaite!

"Pot dust?" Axel asked suddenly, trying to stifle a laugh.

"Shut it," Jake growled. "Plus wasn't it you two who said I should deal with my own problems?"

"What crawled up your a-" Axel replied.

"Enough," Luca interjected.

"Hmph," the boy and his vampire voiced simultaneously.

"Jake, what is wrong with you tonight?" his wolf inquired. "You're swearing and being way more aggressive than usual,"

"New powers, new adjustments. I want for this to end and to get some peace, plus this shifter's scent is putting me on edge,"

That statement had half a second to register in the young hybrid's mind as he instantly sat up.

"Stop staring you perverted voyeur!" Jake spat.

There was a wave of movement and a man appeared infront the view of abandoned buildings. Jake sighed. He did not finish being grounded to return home to this drama.

"Didn't you wish for it to end?" Axel quipped.

I want my wish back, Jake thought.

He ignored Axel, addressing the assassin before him. "Long time no see, how is Shit- face doing? I thought you two would come as a pain, I mean a pair,"
