"It hurts Alfred." Was the first words I spoken since I lived with Bruce Wayne and his adopted son Richard ("Call me Dick") Grayson.

"I know." Alfred said as he placed some food beside me, seeming not to be surprised I talked. I hadn't really said anything other then told them my name was percy.

Even that was on the second day since I lived there. Today was the fourth and I was curled up against the window, the one that didn't have a balcony anyway.

"Does it ever stop?" I asked as I turned toward the butler who's been there for me day in and day out, not like Mr.Wayne.

"It won't ever go away, but the pain lessens." Alfred said and it sounded like he heard the words before.

I nodded my head then leaned it against the window, "I'm staying here until I'm 18 aren't I?" I asked just wanted someone else to hear it.

Alfred hesitated then laid a hand on my shoulder, I looked toward him not feeling threatened enough to flinch away, "We would love it if you stayed longer, but yes you are here until you are of legal age." Alfred said in a soothing manner.

"Thanks." I said and leaning toward the window which held pelting rain.

"For what Master Perseus?" Alfred asked and I hid a smile, he was the only one to ever call me by my full name.

"Thanks for being honest." I said but it sounded sort of like a whisper to me. At least he could hear it.

"I'm just happy you are talking Master Perseus. Would you like anything else for breakfast?" he asked motioning toward the tray of breakfast.

Taking a look at the food I noticed eggs, pancakes, and bacon with a side of milk, "Tomorrow, could I have a glass of Orange Juice instead?" I asked taking the milk and drinking a bit of it.

"Would you like some now?" Alfred asked and I could tell he really meant it, but I shook my head. Drinks were just drinks, I didn't want to be wasteful.

"If you're sure." Alfred said and then took his leave.

Bring the plate close to my chest I started to distantly eat it, the rain wasn't helping my mood. It just reminded me of what happened.

Sighing when nothing was left (I started to eat full meals my third day) I finished the milk and threw on a jacket and shoes.

Heading out of my room (which I rarely left) I made my way toward the back door near the kitchen.

"Where do you think you're going?" A somewhat deep voice asked and I turned toward it recognizing that it was my uncle.

"Can I head out?" I asked and I could see the man a tad shocked when I spoke, it was weird I guess.

"In this weather?" he asked with a raised eyebrow.

"I need to clear my head." I said and I really did, I felt confined and needed a stretch. I could see Mr.Wayne wanted to disagree when suddenly Alfred popped out from somewhere and laid a hand on Bruce's shoulder.

Mr.Wayne hesitated then said, "Be home in an hour please. If you need anything you have our phone numbers."

Nodding, I slipped through the backdoor and felt my hair dampened a bit because of the rain. Not caring if I got cold I started down the muddy field and toward the small forest out back.

Taking shelter in the trees which help lessen the water, I found a particular tree that I first saw and started to climb it.

Not high where I couldn't jump down, but enough that I felt secure and above other simple things. Taller than Bruce, taller than Dick, even taller than Alfred.

I snuggled against the trunk of the tree and pulled the jacket closer, I just looked up and watched as rain fell toward the earth, the ones that didn't get stopped by leaves anyway.

Timing my watch for 45 minutes, I just watched as the rain start to lessen and the clouds cleared up just a little bit (but it was Gotham and the sky never shined as bright as New York).

I felt myself relax and just look up, thinking if my mother was up there or not. I spent that way until my watch chimed and I sighed.

Slowly dragging myself down after a debate of jumping or not. I found myself pulled down a little by my rain soaked clothes.

Scrunching my nose I made my way back toward the house after removing my water-filled jacket, I made my way toward the house ignoring the bitter coldness around me.

Going inside I removed my shoes and hung the coat before making my way toward my bedroom. After telling Alfred that I was home, I took a shower and changed clothes (cause even the shirt underneath got water in it).

Making my way downstairs I sat at the table and waited for lunch, it was just going to be Alfred and I, Dick was at school and Bruce was at work.

I was nine so I would go to an elementary school while Dick was eleven and already skipped a few grades. I didn't know how I felt about Dick.

He was nice, really he was and he was there for me at times (Not like Bruce anyway) but still, he disappeared with Bruce at the end of the day and I can't help but feel left out.

Thanking Alfred when he put a sandwich in front of me I slowly started to eat it, I honestly had no idea what to expect from my life now.
