It was two months after my birthday when I was finally able to snoop around the place. Alfred was gone, he was going to the store to pick up some food. One of Bruce's friend just practically ate everything from the fridge.
Bruce himself was gone, working on some paperwork with the commissioner and Dick was at this Mathalon. Sneaking toward Bruce's office (it was the main area where Bruce would disappear) I felt around and frowned when I was looking at the clock.
I looked at the clock then my watch, for someone like Bruce it's weird how it's a bit off. Frowning I started to turn the arrows when suddenly something clicked into place and the clock started to shift.
This wasn't what I expected to happen....really, a giant cave underneath the entire Wayne Manor. Yeah, not something you see everyday.
Cautiously going downward, I took out a flashlight and looked around until the lights just seemed to flick on.
This really wasn't what I expected Bruce and Dick to keep secret....
The Bat Cave, dang it could use a makeover. I look over and my eyes held a spark as I saw the batmobile.
Making my way over there I took in all the artifacts and collections, a giant penny, a dinosaur, it was all really cool.
It wasn't as cool as the Batmobile up close though, I debated on touching it and maybe seeing the beauty and what parts made it but then thought about Bruce.
If Batman was as paranoid as people say, he probably has a touch sensitive car that alerted him if anyone well...touched it.
Feeling a bit disappointed I moved back and toward the computer that was located down there, not bad but I've designed and created better.
I clicked it a few times and easily got into it despite the coding that was there that really should've done a better job at keeping me out.
"Beck." I told air as I started to skim through some of the files.
"What do you need sir?" A computerized voice came from my watch.
"Scan area and report." I said and ignored the red light that scanned the place and waited for results.
"Structure is 95 percent safe, percentage of escape is 89 percent. Secret exit around the bend near the car, it will lead you toward a waterfall that has a plate near it so when something heavy runs over it, the water will stop and allow the cave exit to appear." Beck's computerized voice said back to me.
"Record any data you have gathered and send to computer." I said and watched as Beck shut off after an 'affirmative'.
Closing files and emptying the history, I logged out of the computer and made sure that I left no evidence that I was ever there.
I moved out of the chair and started toward the area where I assumed the costumes were. I assumed right as I now stood in front of a Batman and Robin in displays.
I don't know how long I was just standing there just looking, but the idea of playboy uncle Bruce being a superhero...I don't know it was both cool and annoying.
I wished he told me, it would show how much he cares in a weird way. I only realized how long I was just standing there in my thoughts when a cough came from behind me.
Turning around I found Alfred who was standing there in perfect butler pose and looked at me, "You get the food?" I asked and jerked myself away from the suit.
"They are in the kitchen, I was hoping you would assist me in putting them away." Alfred said and his eyebrow was raised.
I shrugged to answer the spoken and outspoken question, I wasn't going to ask if he didn't want me to.
Moving toward the stairs I watched Alfred close the clock and remembered that for next time. We made our way toward the kitchen where I started to talk about this project in history class that was due next week and what material I needed.
We didn't mention the cave, I was sure he might mention it to Bruce when he got back but I was just going to go play it day-by-day.

It was sometime after dinner when I heard the knock at my door. I was skimming through the other information that Beck my AI had gathered when I told whoever to come in distantly.
"Percy, I was hoping we could talk." Playboy Bruce himself asked as he awkwardly stood at the door.
"I don't see why not." I said and quickly closed my laptop, not wanting Bruce to see the information on my laptop that I had built from scratch.
"About the cave..." Bruce started awkwardly.
"I could care less about the cave." I said with a huff and crossed my arms and looked toward the window and not at Bruce," It's the fact that you didn't feel it necessary to tell me about it. For months I've just thought you hadn't cared to make it to any of my games and just ignored me for some reason, maybe because of mom, maybe because she ditched family, I don't know. But I've felt abandoned ever since I moved here." I said with another huff the unspoken words because of Batman were left in the air.
"I didn't mean to make you feel that way. I've never known how to deal with kids, with Dick he found out the second month he was here and I never had to tell him. I don't know how to do things at all, so the next time you want me to do something or expect something, let me know please. I'm new at this just as much as you." Bruce said finally sitting down across from me on the bed.
Sighing I finally looked at him, "I don't want it. Not right now anyway. I just...I want to actually get to know you. In all the months I've been here, this is probably the first real conversation we've had. Isn't that just sad." I said.
Bruce chuckled a little and I felt a smile go on my face, "I guess it is a bit sad. Come on, I took the day off tomorrow, really took the day off. Why don't you, Dick, and I go to the carnival that is in town for the week?" Bruce asked and I instantly perked up.
"That would be great." I said earnestly
"Then it's settled. I'll tell Alfred and Dick soon, just make sure you have your homework done." Bruce said and ruffled my hair.
Putting on a joking smile and trying to hide the flinch that my body did I shoved his hand away, "Later Uncle Bruce." I said earnestly.
"Goodnight Percy." Bruce said but I could see a small frown, guess I didn't hide the finch well enough...I'll deal with it tomorrow.
After making sure Bruce left I told Beck, "Get me all you have on Gotham and their villains, news reports and everything. Bruce told me to finish homework...he just never said it had to be for school." I said then threw a disgusted look toward my English homework.
