The heart monitor was the first thing I noticed, the beeping it was making letting me know my heart rate is and whatever else it might be used for.
The second thing was the sinking feeling I felt in my chest, like it was being weighed down by something unknown. It was probably the thought that the family I have learned to trust has found out that I have powers.
The third thing was that I wasn't quite alone. Batman was at the computer, just looking at a few things, there was a tab open the connected to the monitor so I knew he was aware I was awake.
I had to remind myself that this was Batman, not Bruce and that Robin or Dick, whichever, was somewhere else probably with Alfred.
I slowly tore the wires off and the IV Drip, probably for the dehydration I had gotten (normally happened when my powers got like that) and I heard the monitor flatline before being turned off.
I changed into the spare clothes that were beside me on a chair and moved toward Batman, head bowed.
"If you want I can pack my things." I said quietly as I shuffled toward Bruce.
Batman turned the chair and I could see he wasn't all Batman, his hood was down showing that it was Bruce Wayne under the mask.
A look of small confusion was on his face along with worry lines and tiredness, "Why would I want that?" Bruce asked softly as I shifted from foot to foot, still thirsty but had no idea how much trouble I was in.
"If you don't want me to stay I can go." I muttered looking downcast. I wouldn't be surprised, Gabe always showed he hated me and wanted me out of the house, telling me that no matter what I wouldn't ever find a family that would love me.
Mom was my family and he killed her, I didn't know what to believe.
"I don't want you to leave Percy." Bruce stated firmly making me confused and angry, "Why not? I'll just create more problems." I huffed confusion practically echoed from my body.
The whole 'Bathtub incident' as I was calling it echoes in my mind and drew up unwanted memories of Gabe and what he has done.
I felt a hand be placed on my shoulder and instantly flinched away from it violently, my eyes shown how petrified I was for that split second, no physical contact, at least not right now.
"Percy?" Bruce asked, his voice low and made take a step backward, my mind automatically assuming that the low voice was anger instead of confusion. My instincts were telling me to run but my brain knew that running made it worse.
Something was handed to me and I looked up from staring at my barefeet to look in my palm, it was a necklace I always wore without anyone knowing, never showing it to Bruce, Dick, or even Alfred.
I palmed the spiral that was around it, "This was your father's wasn't it?" Bruce asked his voice soft instead of low as I wet my dry lips.
"Yeah." I said tears were threatening as I held onto the necklace that Green Sea, my father, once gave me when he returned one time. The next day he never returned home.
"If my intel was correct. Green Sea use to wear that." Bruce said softly and I finally let the tears fall. Bruce awkwardly drew me into a hug as I cried into his shoulder.
"I'm sorry I didn't tell." I hiccup and hugged him closer, "She promised me to never tell anyone." I said my eyes stinging, throat drying up even more.
"Your mom?" Bruce asked softly as he rubbed my back softly, something he probably use to do to Dick when he was upset.
"She told me after I almost burned Gabe with water." I hiccuped, "he didn't notice it was me but mom made me promise, promised me to never tell and never use them." I said my body wracked with sobs that seemed to be drying out.
