Chapter Nine: Tired of Lying
"Alright, Beck. I'm moving you to my room. You can sleep there tonight." I told her, even though she was still sound asleep. I picked her up bridal style and walked carefully through the halls of the house until I made it into my room. I pushed the door open with my knee before stepping inside.
My cheeks flushed hotter than a thousand suns as I saw Sam and Aaron on my bed, a tangle of limbs as they kissed. Sam jumped up when he noticed me and ended up crashing to the floor. "Sorry guys, just depositing the sleeping girl." I mumbled. Aaron got off my bed and walked out of the room with Sam at his heels. Sam was grumbling apologies to me. I set Rebekah on my bed and pulled the covers over her. As I sat on the edge of the bed, Rebekah tossed around slightly in her sleep.
"I guess I owe Aaron a hundred bucks." I said quietly with a light chuckle.

"So what you're trying to tell me is that all three, now four, of you are half giant wolves, and that since tonight is a full moon you're going to transform against your will and howl at the moon in the woods together." Sam said.
Aaron looked from me back to Sam. "Essentially, yes." he told Sam.
"God, why couldn't I have just been straight? I wouldn't have fallen for an insane, hot gay guy." Sam mumbled to himself.
"He's not insane, Sam." I told him.
"So I'm just going to have to take your word for it, huh?" Sam snapped.
"Well, we could show you." Aaron said. Sam's face took to a blank expression. He followed us outside, where it had stopped pouring and was now light drizzling.
"I'm not in the mood to destroy my clothing, so you are going to see me completely naked." I warned Sam. He rolled his eyes at me.
"That goes for me too," Aaron told him. Sam's face heated up in a red blush. He turned away as we both stripped down to nothing. I tossed Sam my clothes, as did Aaron.
Sam turned to look at us. "Well?" he asked, an eyebrow raised. I rolled my eyes at him and then lunged toward him. In the air I shifted to my wolf self. Sam flinched away from me. Aaron stepped up next to me.
"You... you look exactly like Rebekah's drawing. The one of those two wolves. Did she draw you?" Sam asked me. Aaron nodded his huge head.
"Okay, change back so you can explain all the shit that needs to be explained." Sam ordered. We both changed back and put our clothes back on.
"Were you born or bitten?" Sam asked.
"Born, but it doesn't really matter. You can be changed either way." Aaron told him.
"Do you change the first full moon after you've been bitten or does something trigger it?" Aaron and I exchanged a look.
"You trigger the wolf gene by taking a life." I told Sam. Charlie opened the back door before I had the chance to open it myself.
"What does she look like as a wolf?" Sam asked me. Charlie raised an eyebrow.
"So I see you told him." she said. A large basket of laundry was in between her hip and her arm.
"Yeah. They told me. But what do you look like?" Sam asked again.
Charlie giggle. "I guess you'll find out later." Sam's face paled at her words.
"Nevermind, I don't want to know."
"Don't want to know what?" Asked a very sleepy Rebekah. "Did Sam ask if Aaron is still a virgin or something?" Charlie burst out laugh while both Sam and Aaron flushed deep red.
"Something like that," I breathed out before pulling Rebekah along over to the kitchen. Rebekah pushed herself out of my grasp.
"Quit it." She whined. I watched as Rebekah plopped down in the couch and curled up into a ball.
"Girl, you and your crazy hair is killing me. You've got to let me do something to it." Charlie demanded. Rebekah giggled and turned so her back was to Charlie.
"Fine, but if you get anywhere near me with scissors..."
"No promises, I could do a lot with this. Layering, bangs, highlights..." Charlie trailed off, thinking about the endless possibilities.
"She already has all of those." Sam pointed out.
"I know, but I could enhance what makes her hair beautiful," Charlie countered as she wove Rebekah's hair into an intricate braid.
"Alright, we'll leave you two to your girl.. things." Aaron said before he grabbed Sam and me by our arms and started to drag us to my room.
"How are you planning to tell Rebekah about her werewolfness?" Sam asked me once the door had been shut behind us.
"I don't know. I'll probably show her." I said. I bent down and started to pick up the shards of mirror from the floor.
"Okay, when are you going to tell her?" Sam asked. I tossed the glass into the trash can under my desk and turned back around to pick more up.
"Tomorrow." I told him. I shoved my backpack aside and found more glass. I sighed deeply before grabbing more.
"Tomorrow? But tonight's the full moon! You can't just wait until it's over." Sam exclaimed.
"I'll keep her out of trouble, and I'll make sure she's back here when she wakes up. It'll just be a faded memory of a nightmare. I'll explain everything in the morning." I told him.
"This, what you're doing, it's as bad as lying to her. You're keeping this from her, and now it's not just your secret, it's hers as well. She doesn't even know what she is! It'll change who she is. She needs to know before she accidentally gives it away without realizing it." Sam said. I was getting mad. Couldn't he see that I was trying to protect her? To make sure that nothing happened?
"Dammit Sam! I'm telling her in the morning and that's final!" I shouted. Sam's eyes went cold, his expression guarded.
"Fine, do it your way. But when she leaves you again, don't come asking me to help you fix it." Sam got up from my bed and left, slamming the door behind him. Aaron shook his head slightly and followed him out.
There was a quiet knock on the door. Rebekah peeked inside through a small crack in the door. "I see you picked up the glass." She commented. I sat down on my desk chair.
"Seemed stupid of me to leave it there, since people keeping walking in and out of my room without shoes on." I replied.
Rebekah walked over to me and sat down on my lap, her arms around my neck. "You okay? I heard you snap at Sam." She asked.
"Yeah, just tired of lying."
