Chapter Twenty-Five: Wheelchairs and Coffee
(Rebekah's Point of View)

I tried to open my eyes, but the light in the room stung. Now that I was awake, I felt the headache. I groaned loudly and tried to roll over, by something was trapping me in place. My eyes started to focus. It was a lightly tanned arm. I followed the arm back to the body it was attached to. Alex laid next to me, his arm wound around my waist, his head stuffed in his pillow. I carefully picked his arm up and got out of bed. Alex grumbled and moved around for a second, then he was out again. I looked down at him fondly. As I watched my sleeping mate, my hand reached up and felt at my Mark. After Michael stormed out of the safe house with Alice in his trail, Alex and I had completed the pack mating rituals. We knew since it wasn't a full moon, I couldn't get pregnant.

I grabbed the hoodie Alex had brought into the library for me and slipped into it as I left the room. The door clicked shut behind me. I made my way carefully up the stairs, making sure I didn't trip or have a moment where my vision went black.

Sam, Aaron and Alice were sitting in the library goofing around with each other. I noticed the gauze on Sam's shoulder. So Aaron had bitten him. Alice looked over at me and we exchanged a little nod. Luke and Isabella were chasing each other in the front room. Jessie and Hayley were making out in between bookshelves. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Michael come up from the stairs with some plates of food. He set them down on the table and gave Alice a little peck.

"Aaron would you help Charlie up the stairs? I've got more food to bring up." Aaron was about to follow Michael.

"I can help Charlie," I interjected. Aaron looked from Michael to me and back again.

"Alright, she's getting groggy, she wants some of the delicious food she cooked for us." Michael said before he went off down the stairs again, this time me at his heels. I could feel someone's eyes on me, and I knew it would be Alice, or maybe even Alex watching me.

As Charlie wobbled towards me I watched Michael scoop up another large tray and start up the stairs. Charlie hung onto me for dear life. "We really need to get you a wheelchair," I mumbled.

"That would be a lot easier." She huffed out in between pants as we started up the stairs. I immediately saw that she couldn't get up. I picked her up bridal style and stomped up the marble stairs. Alex had woken up and was sitting hovering over a mug of coffee, his eyes closed. "Hey Michael," Charlie called. "Could you please grab me a wheelchair." Michael looked up like a startled deer in headlights before running off to go grab one. He returned no more than a minute later and helped me set Charlie into the black wheel chair gently.

He pushed her over to where he had sat down. Once everyone had sat down, Charlie cleared her throat.

"Obviously, this baby is coming out today or tomorrow, by the looks of it." She said. All attention was either on her or coffee. "And tomorrow is the full moon."

"None of you here can stay human on the full moon, so I'm going to call a family friend to come and stay with me tomorrow night. If my baby decided she wants out on the full moon, then he's going to help me." Charlie said. "The only reason I'm giving all of you so much detail is because the family friend is an ex hunter." A couple people sucked in a surprised breath.

"He is Rebekah's father. His name is Actaeon. He helped us fight against the hunters that wished to hurt my pack a couple weeks ago. He will not harm any of you, I can assure that." Charlie told them. Some wolves turned to look at me, others remained staring at Charlie.

"As for Sam, he will need to activate the gene today if he is to fight with us against Jared. So when some of Jared's pack attack you, let him kill them. Or let him take the final blow." Charlie said. Alex could tell that I was starting to panic for my best friend, so he put his hand on my thigh under the table. I focused on his thumb circling over my skin. I closed my eyes for a second and pushed out a shaky breath. Alex left his hand on me even though I was fine. Admittedly, I didn't want him to stop touching me. The warmth of his hand on my leg felt so nice, and it was soothing my raging headache.

"Michael, Alex, Aaron, Sam and Alice will go and speak to the remaining members of Jared's pack." Charlie announced. Hayley and Jessie stopped kissing long enough to give Charlie a look that said that they thought that it was unfair that they didn't get to go.

"Alright, enjoy your food. I've got to call Actaeon." Charlie pushed herself away from the table and over at the edge of the library. Alex removed his hand from my leg so he could fill a plate with food. I growled at the loss of contact.

As I continued to growl at him, I watched out of the corner of my eye as Alice slid over onto Michael's lap. Michael pecked her neck once before turning back to his food. I saw the silvery Mark on both of their necks. So they had completed the ritual too.

Alex handed me a plate full of food. Once the plate was in front of me I started to snarf it down. Yesterday had gotten me starved. Michael and Alice stood from their seat. "Get ready. We're meeting the first two wolves in fifteen minutes." Michael told the wolves that were going.

"Alright then," Alex said as he grabbed me by the hands. "Let's go."

A/N hello everyone!

As you could probably tell, this story is coming to a close. I will probably not be making a sequel, unless you really want me to. Even then, I would need to come up with an idea. And frankly that's probably not going to happen. But if you guys really want one, then I will write a sequel. It could even be a prequel.

These next couple chapters are making up for the fact that I am on vacation and haven't been able to write on my laptop, so I'm going to quit writing with my phone and just update as much as possible today. For the next couple of days, until I get home, there will not be anymore updates.
