"I came as fast as I could!" Jimin barges into the room, shocking the hospitalised girl out of her sobs.
Once Jimin laid eyes on her figure, his breath hitched and a huge lump choked his throat. He gritted his teeth to keep in the sad feelings that were created after seeing the cap disguising her skull. The complexion of her skin was whiter than normal and she looked extremely tired.
"Wh-What are you doing here?" she asked with a soft voice, life almost sucked out of it. He felt the grief burning his insides, but he quickly wiped all those feelings away to force a smile out of his lips.
"You called me, didn't you?" he asked with a frown. She was confused at that. Because, wasn't Jimin the one who was trying to reach her though she never picked up once? And now he was suddenly telling her that she was the one who called him?
He pushed his lower lip forward so he was pouting. He answered her questioning look: "I can't believe you forgot my promise to you when we were small. I said to you that whenever you cry, I'll immediately rush to you. It's your call for my help. And I'm glad I didn't miss it, again."
This made her heart jump in delight, though the miserable feeling soon returned.
"And what is this?" he asked as he rubbed his hand across the grey cap she was wearing, feeling the thin layer underneath clearly. It made him shiver, but he quickly ignored that. "You need some styling from me. You look so dull with this on!"
She giggled, feeling a bit relieved she didn't have to go through the worry to realise the truth. This was all Jimin's plan, pretending as if he didn't know a thing. He knew all too well how much she would appreciate that, but then again, she didn't know that Jimin was only acting.
"I know I can trust you on that", she answered with a little more spirit.
Weird, she thought. Weird as in how much Jimin could make her so happy by simply existing right by her side.
She wished this moment would last forever, already realising that this was too stupid. Nevertheless, she couldn't help hoping... her thoughts aligning with Jimin's.

"Ta da da daaaa~!!" Jimin entered her room with a special bouquet, carefully picked for his best friend.
"Wowie! That's something new!" she laughed as she looked at the bouquet of different colours of beanies. Jimin walked up to her bed and instead of sitting on the chair next to her, he let himself fall on the edge of her bed.
He handed her present over to her with a big smile, which she gladly accepted. She looked through the various hats and even pretended to smell it as if it were flowers.
"Thank you", she smiled.
His eyes left hers. Instead he let them fall to the floor, overthinking if he should tell her or not. He felt his heart beating crazily. He didn't even know if it was worth anymore to tell.
"Tomorrow, I'll wear one of these", she said and put his present aside.
"Why not now?" he asked and took a blue beanie out of the package.
Her expression immediately changed to scare. She didn't want to show what was underneath the cap she was wearing now. Rather, she didn't want to show him what was not.
