We were still too naïve that promises could be easily broken.

"That's weird", the young girl said as she glanced at the papers revealing the composition of classes. Her fingers reached for her mouth to play around with her lower lip as she searched through the names with a deep frown covering her forehead.

"_______! Don't tell me we're in the same class again." The boy who called out to the confused girl threw his arm around her shoulder to pull her against his chest, making it impossible for her to concentrate on the list anymore.

"Yes, we're in the same class again", she answered with the same whining voice. "Only... Taehyung's not."

The muscles in his arm loosen a bit, what makes it possible for her to stand back straight up again and look at him with a serious face.

"That can't be", he said, hoping that he would have had the power to change reality with the littlest thing he said. With still his arm connected around her neck, he moved to the list with names that were going to be in their class. He took on the same concentrating gaze as he analysed through all the different classmates that were of no importance if not named Kim Taehyung.

"I guess the teachers couldn't keep up with us together." The two turned their heads around to look in the eyes of their lost friend who suddenly started talking to them with a new set of greetings. "We can't be in the same class forever."

"I actually believed we would", she answered sadly while her eyes dropped down to the ground. Ever since they've known each other, there was nothing that could break these three apart. All these years, they were gifted with the luck to always spend their days together in the same classroom. Now they finally realise that luck is only limited.

"Don't act so piteous, you two", Jimin tried to boost their spirit up. "We can still see each other during break. It's not like we're barely going to hang out with each other just because of this little thing."

"You're right. Don't think you're freed from me!" Taehyung regained his usual happy smile. As he laid his eyes on his other friend, he stared at the way she rolled a lock of her hair between her fingers, something she always did whenever she was feeling down.

To comfort her a little and regain her smile, he rubbed his hand across the crown of her head, messing up her hairstyle. A slight blush was noticeable on her cheeks and to return the favour, she stuck out her arms to reach for his head to play with his hairs too. A giggle escaped her lips what made Taehyung smile in satisfaction and release her. She didn't let go yet, because she always longed to touch his soft hairs and wanted to take advantage of this chance.

"I'll see you during lunch, alright?" Taehyung asked as he took one hand of hers off his head and held it in his hands, not knowing that that little movement could make her heart pound a lot quicker than normal. "And don't go home without me after school."

"Of course we wouldn't. You probably won't find your way back home on your own and then your parents are most probably going to scold me", Jinin said and chuckled, trying his best to ignore Taehyung caressing the skin of his friend's hand. "They're quite scary when they're worried."

"That's why I love them", Taehyung answered and showed his rectangle smile. When the first school bell of this year rang, announcing to get used to their broken routine, all their faces drooped.

"I guess I should go to my class", Taehyung answered, subtly emphasising the 'my'. He let the girl's hand go and waved his hand, bidding goodbye. As Taehyung left the scene, the other two turned around to get to their new room.

"It's going to be weird without him around", Jimin sighed and then looked at his friend who was still blushing a pink tint on her cheeks. She pressed her lips together and nodded passively. Jimin stared a little longer at her, already realising what was happening to her. He then closed his eyes for a few seconds to look back straight again.

Just forget, he thought.

======

Yo guys! This is going to be a short story! I just wanted at least ONE book which is completed 😁

If you have read my other stories, you can see I wrote this quite differently. I'm trying my best to keep this writing style, but honestly, it's a lot more difficult than I thought.

Hope you liked it anyway!!

Next update will be... when???! 😱
