AMNESIA!?

Chapter 12 (AMNESIA!?)

Inuyasha's POV

I stormed into the forest, not looking back.

I could hear the others slowly catching up, but I didn't stop to wait for them.

How could she do that! I thought infuriated.

It's like the needles went in me then later some were shoved down my throat!

Of all the things, I wanted to keep her safe, since I didn't do a good job of protecting Sakura. I thought, 'at least she would be okay'

WRONG!

"Hurry up you guys!" I growled impatiently.

I needed to find her before she did anything stupid.

Or more.

I could still smell a bit of her, and I knew I was going in the right direction.

"Inuyasha!" I heard someone pant, "Please, let's stop for a moment."

"You guys can, I'm not!" I said briskly as I swung the branch away from my view.

The more steps I took, the more her scent became stronger. I couldn't stop now.

I suddenly felt sharp fingers dig into the side of my shoulder and I turned my head to see Sango glaring at me.

"RELAX!" She boomed.

"HOW CAN I?" I yelled back.

She lets go and gives me a worried look.

"We'll find her." She added softly.

"Yeah one way or another." I commented.

SLAP!

I rubbed the side of my cheek tenderly and I looked to see Sango almost into tears.

"FINE! YOU KNOW WHAT I'M SORRY THAT THIS HAPPENED BECAUSE I DIDN'T HAVE ENOUGH POWER TO MAKE HER STAY!."

I froze and looked her straight in the eye.

"What are you saying!"

"I'M SAYING THAT ITS MY FAULT SHE LEFT!!!" She blinked and the tears started rushing down her cheeks.

Instinctively I advance on her, I didn't know what I was doing or what I was about to do but the moment I moved, Miroku blocked my view.

"Move away." I said in a low voice.

His expression didn't waver from what I said and I truly lost it.

"GET OUT OF MY WAY!!!" I screeched pushing Miroku to the side.

I grabbed Sango's top garment and pulled, bringing her face leveled with mine.

"What did you do." I said quickly my heart pounding twice as fast than its usual pace.

She gulped then whispered, "S-She wanted to go find her, and keep you safe.....I tried to tell her...but it wasn't enough."

"You should've done better." I muttered and she fumed at me, her eyes glistening with tears.

"I TRIED!" She whimpered.

I was about to say more but then I felt Miroku yank me away. My fingers instantly released her, and she fell to the ground with a thump.

"LAY OFF INUYASHA!" Miroku snarled.

I let him pull and drag me, for I was too stunned to do anything else.

The words ringed in my mind over and over again, Kagome's voice loud and clear,

'Be safe'

Those were her last words before she left. I realized.
