Tessa walked into the auditorium with Jillian, Kam, Hero, Matt, and Lucy. Meaghan went early because she was graduating. Tessa sat beside Jill who sat beside Matt who sat beside Hero who sat beside Kam who sat beside Lucy.
"Everyone take your seats. We will start momentarily." The voice coming from the speakers said. Everyone started to head to their seats. Once everyone was seated Mr. Lawrence, Headmaster Thorne and Mrs. Morgan (Mythology Teacher) stood at the front of the auditorium, on the stage.
"We thank all of you for coming to the 2016 graduation of our senior class." Tara said. She looked at the crowd. She wore a long black dress as did Mrs. Morgan and Mr. Lawrence wore a fancy suit. Everyone looked dressed up.
"Tonight we say goodbye to 97 students. These students have shown an interest in learning about the past of each of their own kind. They have learn about mistreatment of the creatures in the past hundreds of years, but tonight we honour the wonderful work of each student." Me. Lawrence said with a smile. Mrs. Morgan stood up to the Microphone.
"I have had the chance to get to know each student. They all have chances open to them, in both worlds." Mrs. Morgan smiled. They started to call each student name by name. They were handed a diploma to show what they did in the past few years and that they were graduated.
"Finally we would like to bring up the valedictorian, miss. Meaghan Graham." Headmaster Tara Thorne said. Meaghan stood up and walked to the microphone.
"Hello, ladies and gentleman. Tonight, we are saying good bye to the school we've come to know as home. For some of it is home. Some will stay here and some will leave. Some will go back to loved one back in the mortal world. In the place we grew up. Some will stay in this world. But we have this school to thank for getting us where we're going. We have gone to school, we have learned about ourselves, our history. We have learned all the amazing things we didn't know existed before. We met people who we hated and people who we loved. We have made our family. We haven't been alive long enough yet and I don't think we ever will be. We will find love and find hope. We will be able to have kids, get a job. A real job. Not at McDonald's. We don't always get along and such but we are still a family. Whether we like it or not. It's okay to have anger and love. I love my brother. I love my mom. This school has taught me a lot about accepting myself and humans. When I started going to school here, I hated them. I learned about them and their history but they will never learn ours. It's up to us, the next generation, to fight for more than what we have. To want to be free. We will grow apart or closer. But tonight, the night is ours. We will make mistakes and fuck up. Good luck on the rest of you lives. I hope the best for you." Meaghan told her speech, the one she's been practicing and writing for months. This was an honour to her. She walked off stage and sat beside William, a senior vampire. Tara walked onto the stage.
"With that, the ceremony is over. There are refreshments and snacks in the hall. Thank you." Tara smiled.
