Dearest Vanessa,
I understand if you're mad at me. I get it. You have every right to be. I'm sorry I didn't go to your family day. I took next month off so I could see you, if you still want me too. I have some news you won't like.
My Tessa, Your father and I adopted you when you were only a few months old. By than we knew you were special and your father loved you and your brother but he couldn't stay. He was using drugs. He didn't want it to affect you. Your father wanted you to hear this from him. We talked about it. But he isn't here. He doesn't have any rights to you. He gave us up.
Markus is our baby, but you, Vanessa, are our pride and joy. Adopted or not.
You are my daughter. My princess.
I have been in contact with your dad for a few years. He is trying to clean up so he can be apart of your life. He wants you and your brother in his life. Don't tell Mark, I don't want him to get his hopes up. You are strong enough not to because you told me that you didn't care if daddy came home, he was only a sperm donor. Well, sorry.
Your birth mom was only 15 when she got pregnant with you and your birth father was long gone. She wanted you to have a good. She gave you up with a heavy heart. It wasn't an easy choice, it was a hard one for her. Your father promised her, you'd have a better with us. You would have two parents who made good choices. I didn't know he was using drugs at that time. When I found out I told him to leave or get clean. He left because he needed them. Now he misses you and wants to know his blood son. God knows how many girls he impregnated, but we still love him.
Now Tessa, know that even though you aren't really my daughter, you are the best thing that happened to me. I don't know where I would be if I didn't have you, my beautiful baby girl.
Love always, Mom.
P.S I am so sorry i couldn't make it to family day, next month, I promise. Love you.
