Dear Dad,

You might be a 50 year old today but I will never be able to feel that cause you've always shown a friend in you. Someone I can talk to openly without having the feeling of being judged or critiqued. I might say a few things a few times that's only cause I expect better from you just the way you expect better from me. I mean c'mon if parents can, so can kids. You give me the best no doubt and I love you for that.

I'm so glad that I've constantly had you to look up to for motivation and confidence when I'm running low on it. But well you put it down quite a few times yourself.

I know that you're gonna mock my English and nag me about how bad it is but well too bad cause this is how I express my feelings.

You were my strength when I was weak, lifted me up when I couldn't reach. I'm everything I am because you loved me.

Thank you for those quick tips, for the perfect guidance to lead my life, for making me strong, for the times you believed in me, for helping me make my decisions, for making the wonderful person I am today. I honestly thank you for being MY dad for all this time.

You taught me how to be strong and yet sensitive, to fight for myself and still stay humble, to protect myself and at the same time be elegant.

I'm not telling you these nice things just because it's your birthday. I genuinely feel it every single day. I might always show anger but remember I always love you.

Even though we don't always understand each other, you're one of the biggest influences in my life. A father is the one who guides his daughter through life.

From teaching me how to walk or throw a ball, you've showed me ways to stand on my own two feet. A dad's job is not only to protect his little girl, but also to show her how to defend herself when, one day, he is not around.

Again, thank you dad for showing me my way. Thank you for being so hard on me cause I couldn't have become this strong without it. Thank you for never keeping me in a bubble and letting me know every bit of reality.

In hindsight, you've always had my back. You've been the biggest fan of me ever since I was born. Always being proud and not taking credit when every single thing is what I owe you.

I might fail miserably at times at being the daughter you deserve, but just know that I do try very hard.

Well here's three hurrahs to the world's youngest 50 year old. To the first man to ever love me. To my Prince Charming till the end of time. My super hero.

Happy birthday dad.
Always loving you,
Your angel.
