I gasped and used my injured foot to give me the boost I needed to grab Lincoln's hand, just as the rocks I was holding on to tumbled down the cliff. I ignored the throbbing pain as Lincoln pulled me up and I fell on him, sobs wracking my body. I buried my face in his chest, trembling at the near death experience. His arms tightened around me and I clung to him, sobbing my heart out.

"Mel, Mel, Mel it's okay. You're fine now. You're safe." Lincoln rubbed my back and I sucked in a breath, trying to calm myself down. I wasn't on the cliff anymore. I wasn't going to fall to my death. The sound of the helicopter came closer again and everyone shifted away from the opening so that we wouldn't be seen.

"Yo, we ain't gonna be able to do this for two miles." C-note said, peeking out when the helicopter went away again. "There's a barn over there. Let's stop there and then figure out what we're gonna do. Sound good?" He turned to Michael, who was deep in thought.

"Yeah, that's fine. That'll give me time to think of something." Michael leaned out and looked up at the night sky. "Let's go." Abruzzi and Sucre were the first to crawl out, followed by C-note, and then me and Lincoln. He helped me up and when I put my right foot down, it buckled and I fell against Lincoln.

"I can't run on this, Linc." I whispered, holding on to his shoulders.

"It's okay. Let's get out of this hole first and then get on my back." Before I could say anything, he stepped out and lifted me out of the hole. "Alright, now get on." He squatted and I hesitated, holding my right foot off the ground, balancing on my left.

"Linc, I'll weigh you down." I protested and he rolled his eyes.

"Babe, I bench press two times your weight. This is nothing. Now come on. We don't have all day." I sighed and got on Lincoln's back, wrapping my arms around his neck. He took off running as if I weighed nothing and caught up with the guys that were in front of us. I saw the barn up ahead and I placed my head on Lincoln's neck, closing my eyes. I could hear the helicopter circling around again, which urged Lincoln to run faster. We made it to the barn and he set me down in the chair that was in there.

"We need to separate Michael and T-bag. They're slowing us down." Sucre said, looking out the barn to see where they were. They were so far behind that they still hadn't made it to the barn yet. Meanwhile, Lincoln found some cloth and thin wires and prepared to wrap my ankle. He kneeled down and took off my shoe, along with my sock. He said nothing as he did this and I thought about our mini fight over me and T-bag.

"Lincoln, about earlier, in the van..."

"It's forgotten." he interrupted and I raised my eyebrows.

"What?" He looked up at me, holding my ankle in his hand.

"There's no use in getting mad over something you had to do to survive. You almost dying out here was a jolt of reality. I can't spend the time I have left with you arguing and being childish when I could spend it cherishing what I have." he explained and that warmed my heart. I smiled and he sent me his signature smirk before focusing on my ankle. I winced when he pressed against the sides.

"I have a plan on how we can separate them. When they get in here, C-note and Linc, hold them down so Sucre can get the pliers and break them apart." Abruzzi explained as Lincoln wrapped my ankle and tied it off with the wire. The others nodded.

"Stand up and see if you can walk on it." Lincoln told me. I did what he said and tentatively set my right foot down and started walking. I could still feel a bit of the pain, but it was more of an uncomfortable feeling. I would be able to run on it with little to no problem.

"It's good. Thank you." I said, walking back over to him. He pulled me to him and caught me off guard when he pressed his lips against mine. I couldn't help how I responded to his kiss, throwing my arms around his neck and pulling him closer. There was a certain urgency behind the kiss and I could tell it was almost an apology kiss.

"Alright, lovebirds, break it up. Here they come." C-note said and Lincoln let me go, smiling down at me. I bit my lip and I felt my face heating up slightly at his gaze. He winked and walked over by C-note, waiting for his brother and T-bag to stumble in. When they did, Linc and C-note immediately grabbed them and led them to the broken down car.

"Hey! Get your hands off me!" T-bag yelled and Michael said nothing as they were slammed down on the hood of the car. Sucre rushed over and tried to break the chain in the middle of the cuffs with the pliers, but the pliers broke, the force of it making Sucre stumble back.

"This ain't working, papí." he said, wiping his face.

"There's only one thing left to do." I heard Abruzzi's voice on the other side of the barn and I turned in time to see him pick up an axe. My eyes widened when I realized when he was going to do.

"John, don't!" I yelled as he hurried to where Michael and T-bag were. T-bag thrashed against Lincoln, fear struck on his face.

"No! Abruzzi, don't do this! No!" he yelled, trying to get away, but it was no use. Abruzzi brought the axe down and I screamed as blood squirted from T-bag now severed left hand. A blood curdling scream erupted from T-bag's lips, the sound filled with pain and agony. I put my hand on my mouth, backing away. Michael moved and wiped the blood that hit his face and hands.

"We need to go, now." Michael said, turning away from T-bag. I was still in shock, staring at the hand that was on the hood of the car and T-bag, who was writhing in pain on the ground.

"H-he just, his hand, i-it's-" I couldn't finish because I couldn't believe my eyes. Yeah, I've killed plenty of people, chopped hands and feet and more off of people. But seeing someone you actually talked to, shared moments with, even if they were moments of anger, was another thing entirely. That was like watching someone chop my dad's hand off. Doesn't matter that I hate him, I would still have that reaction.

"Snap out of it Melanie." Lincoln said softly, shaking me a bit. I pulled my eyes away from T-bag and swallowed, nodding my head.

"Okay, yeah we need to go. We need to go." I whispered to myself.

"You think you can run on that ankle?" Abruzzi asked. Michael and C-note were already by the door, ready to go. Sucre grabbed a few things and walked over to where they were.

"I'm pretty sure." I answered honestly.

"Good enough for me. Let's go." He waved his hand and Lincoln and I followed after him, leaving T-bag behind.
