"Sara has been accused of being an accessory to the breakout and will be going to court, so if you want to save your precious little sister, then I suggest you tell me where she is. Now!" Amir yelled.

"Telling you would be worse than court. I don't trust you...you monsters." I hissed, giving him a disgusted look. He chuckled and walked around the table until he was next to me. He yanked my hair back and I gasped as pain traveled through my scalp.

"You used to be one of us 'monsters', remember?" he whispered in my ear, his breath tickling it. My breathing hitched as his grip tightened and he pulled my head further back. "You really wanna play this game, Mel?" I started laughing at his attempt to scare me.

"Amir, go fuck yourself." I bit my lip to stop myself from crying out when his nails dug into my scalp at what I just said. He shoved my head forward and grabbed his walkie talkie from his belt buckle.

"Donovan, bring the water lever. I have to do a bit of convincing." Amir spoke into it and my eyes widened.

"Copy that." Donovan answered and Amir turned back to me, a slight smile on his face.

"I take it you remember what the water lever is?" he asked, sitting at the edge of the table. His chocolate brown eyes stared at me and I wanted to claw at his pretty face until he looked like the monster he really was.

"I'm sorry, you might have to refresh my memory." I said sarcastically. Amir clicked his tongue and crossed his arms.

"Well, the water lever is a contraption that was created by the general to torture prisoners who gave us a hard time. If they don't do what we want, we bring it out, press the lever, and start drowning the prisoner in the bucket of water repeatedly until they finally tell us what we want to hear." The door opened and the contraption Amir was explained came through the door, followed by who I now knew was Donovan. "And here it is. You get to test it out for me."

I made sure my face didn't expose my fear because I was on the verge of panicking. Drowning was one of my worst fears and was probably the worst punishment that I could ever go through. They must have read through my records because every potential recruit has to put down their worst fear so that they could try to conquer it while in training. Amir put the water lever on the table, right in front of me. The bucket was filled all the way to the top with water and my heart started beating fast.

Amir dismissed Donovan and walked behind me, placing his large hands on my shoulders. "Now, I'll give you one more chance to tell me where your sister is or else it's torture time for you."

"Fuck you." I spat out, bracing myself.

"Suit yourself." He didn't waste one second pushing my head down in the water. It was freezing cold and I held my breath as water overflowed and started spilling into my lap. I held my breath, my chest tightening as I ran out of air. I felt Amir grab the back of my head and he shook my head hard, catching me off guard. I opened my mouth and water instantly started filling my lungs. I couldn't breathe and I thrashed around, trying to get him to lift my head up. My head started to get light and when I was about to just let go, he brought my head up for air.

I sputtered and coughed up water violently, trying to breathe in as much air as possible. Amir's face popped up in my blurry line of vision. "Are you ready to tell me?" he asked and I shook my head stubbornly.

"Never." I rasped. Amir shrugged and I took a lungful of air just in time because he forcefully pushed my head back in the water. This went on for the next twenty minutes until I could barely open my eyes since he didn't give me a break.

"This isn't working." Amir said finally, knocking the bucket off the table. The water splashed on the floor and I my chest heaved up and down, trying to get some air back in my lungs. I coughed and spit out the water that came up. Droplets of water hung from my blonde strands and I whipped my head back to get my hair out of my face. I said nothing as I watched Amir pace around the small room.

"There should be something." I heard him mutter. While he faced away from me, I turned my attention the the straps. While he was drowning me, I was unbuckling the straps and I just need to tug one more time before I could get it all the way off. When I got one hand free, I reached down and quickly unstrapped my legs, before strapping my hand back in case he noticed. Amir made a noise and turned to face me, smiling maliciously.

"What?" I asked, frowning. I didn't like the look on his face as he grabbed his cell phone.

"Grayson, bring in the monitor so that our guest can take a look at it. Thanks." Amir snapped his phone shut and leaned on his hands. "Your son is alive."

"Don't." I warned, the throbbing sensation of pain filling my chest at those words. He smiled and started tapping the table as he walked around it.

"I'm being honest with you. Your son is alive and well. His breathing is okay too, unlike yours right now." He was right about my breathing. Anger and sadness mixed together was taking over my body and I needed to gain control of it or else he would notice that my feet were no longer tied up. Telling me this could be one of the cruelest things he could ever do to me.

The door opened and Grayson walked in with a laptop and handed it to Amir. My eyes narrowed as I wondered what he could possibly do to me with a computer. He said nothing as he set it down on the table and powered it up. Since it was facing me, I saw the image as soon as it appeared.

"This is capturing what's happening down there right now, as we speak." Amir explained as I watched my son walk around in a cell. I shook my head, not believing it.

"No, you're lying. You're just trying to get me to tell you where my sister is and that's not happening." I said, shaking my head with disbelief. Amir sighed deeply and took out his phone again.

"Donovan, give the boy today's newspaper." he demanded. On the screen, I saw Donovan walk into the frame and hand LJ a newspaper. He said something to him and LJ turned to the camera and held up the newspaper. I looked closer and it read today's date.

"That's impossible. Your people killed him!" I yelled, not convinced. "You could've doctored this video to make it seem like it's happening now. I used to work here, so I know how things go." I snapped, pushing back the tears that threatened to spill over. I looked back at the screen and reached out to touch it, wanting to feel my son's touch.

"Donovan, beat the boy up." Amir said and before any words could form, I watched Donovan come back into the screen and swing his arm, his fist connecting with LJ's face.

"No!" I screamed, jumping up, only to be held down by the straps. "Stop! Leave him alone! I believe you!" I cried out, not able to bear seeing my son being pummeled by a grown man.

"Stop." Amir said in his phone and I watched Donovan  push LJ down and walk away. LJ wiped his lips with his shirt and it came away with blood. My chest started to ache relentlessly and the anger from before came back, almost taking over my mind. There was no way they were keeping him here any longer. My focus now was not saving myself, but rescuing LJ. "Now, tell me where your sister is."

"Go to hell." I jumped up and kicked the chair back, bringing it over my head, hands still strapped to the armrests. I swung my arms and the chair connected with Amir's temple, knocking him out instantly. When I was sure he was down, I freed my hands and took his phone and walkie talkie, along with the keys in his pocket. I cleared my throat and spoke into the walkie talkie, deepening my voice to disguise it. "All guards abandon posts and go to meeting room. All guards abandon post and go to the meeting room."

I needed the guards to be gone so that when I went to rescue LJ, I wouldn't have to fight every guard I came in contact with. I pressed my ear against the door and when I was sure the Grayson was far away, I opened the door and sprinted out.
