Since we were walking in the direction of the car, Michael suggested that we search for Tweener by driving around, in case he wasn't where T-bag said he was.
"Oh, so you don't trust me?" T-bag asked as we all piled in.
"No." Michael answered bluntly, getting in the backseat. Lincoln slid into the driver's seat and T-bag was about to get in the passenger's seat, but I smacked his hand away from the door handle.
"Get in the back, idiot." I snapped. T-bag glared at me and licked his lips while backing up from the door. I rolled my eyes and got in, buckling up right away. When everyone was in, Lincoln started the car and drove in the direction T-bag said Tweener went in.
"You think the others are gonna try and get to the money?" T-bag asked, after telling Lincoln to turn right. Michael was looking out the window, his hand resting on his forehead.
"Possibly." he said, squinting. He always did that when he was thinking of a plan, which was always.
"Let's go down the list, shall we?" T-bag continued. "Sucre and C-note are definitely coming after it, since they got kids and all. Little Tweener somehow found his silly ass down here without getting killed, and even got to the map. And ya'll with me, so y'all definitely here for Westmoreland's booty."
I was pretty sure that we were all trying to ignore T-bag at this point, but my hand automatically went to the lightening bolt necklace Westmoreland gave me, and my heart squeezed tightly at the memory of his death.
"You said it's up this road right here?" Lincoln asked, pointing out the window. T-bag leaned forward to see where Lincoln was pointing and nodded.
"Yeah. Now as I was saying, last but definitely not least, Abruzzi." As soon as he said Abruzzi's name, my breath caught. Flashes of what happened to him and LJ invaded my mind and pain shot through my body. As he continued talking about him, I could feel tears welling up in my eyes and I just wanted him to stop.
"Can you just shut the hell up?" I burst, and I saw Lincoln's eyebrows raise in surprise. I sighed and took my hair out of its bun, feeling the pressure release a bit.
"Oh, did I hit a nerve?" T-bag asked, leaning forward. I ignored him and tried to calm myself down. Michael has a plan. Michael has a plan. I chanted in my mind, trying to convince myself of that so that I wouldn't go ballistic about LJ being with the FBI and charged with murder. "Abruzzi doesn't need the money. In fact, where is Abruzzi, huh?" T-bag continued, his breath hitting the back of my neck.
"Dead." Lincoln answered. I felt his hand squeeze my thigh, a gesture to help me calm down. It started working, but the next words that came out of T-bag's mouth made my blood freeze.
"Of course he's dead. Can't say I feel bad. He deserved it." Abruzzi died saving us from the police. Without him, we wouldn't be here trying to find the map or the money, or even trying to get my son back. All I saw in my vision was red and I turned back, reaching for T-bag, my fingers wrapping around his throat.
"Say it again!" I screamed, squeezing tightly. T-bag scratched at my arms, trying to get me off, but my fingers were locked around his throat, my thumbs pressing hard against his windpipe. The car screeched to a halt, which propelled me forward even more.
"Melanie!" Michael yelled, but I just squeezed tighter, tears spilling out my eyes. T-bag's eyes rolled back and it wasn't until I felt Lincoln pull me back that I let go, my chest heaving up and down.
"What the fuck is wrong with you, you crazy bitch?" T-bag yelled, gasping for air.
"Watch it, inbred." Lincoln warned, wrapping his arm around me. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, wiping my eyes. "Babe-"
