"We got to dump them now." Lincoln said as Michael looked over at the water. Us three were sitting on a pier that we found, resting for a bit. I was sitting in between Lincoln's legs, playing with his fingers while he talked to Michael. I leaned my head on his chest, enjoying the peaceful moment, no matter how short it was going to be. My eyes drifted over to the water as he leaned his chin on the top of my head.
"Can't." Michael sighed. "They know about Utah." Lincoln shrugged, threading his fingers through mine.
"All the more reason to dump them." he stated, his deep voice rumbling deep in his chest.
"If they get caught, the feds will know exactly where we're going." Michael explained, tapping his fingers on the wood of the pier, squinting as the sun blinded him for a split second.
"What do we do then?" I asked quietly, pulling Lincoln's arms around me. He nuzzled my neck and placed a soft kiss on my cheek, making me break out into a smile.
"We make sure they're with us until we get to Utah, doing what we need to do." Michael said, me and Lincoln's small interaction not seeming to bother him. I guess he was used to it after all these years. Lincoln and I weren't afraid to show our affection for each other in public. We knew our limits though. I glanced over at the rest of the guys, who were all looking at us suspiciously.
"You really think the money's going to be there?" Lincoln asked, uncertainty in his voice. Michael looked down for a second before looking back at Lincoln.
"Charles bent the truth a little, but in the end, there'd be no reason for him to lie about it." My chest started to tighten at the mention of Charles and his unfortunate death. Lincoln squeezed my hands and I looked up at him. His green eyes bore into mine and he shook his head slightly. I looked down, knowing that he was silently telling me it wasn't my fault.
Lincoln pulled away from me and leaned back on his arms, forcing me to lean on his legs. "What are we gonna go after we bag the money?" he asked, looking up towards the sky.
"We cross the border into Mexico and take a whole bunch of bumpy bus rides until we hit Panama." Lincoln smiled a bit.
"You really wanna start that dive shop thing, don't you?" he joked and that made me smile. Michael always talked about starting a dive shop on the beach, in paradise.
"Yeah." Michael answered and they both started chuckling. I looked over at the other guys again and they were frowning, talking amongst themselves while still staring at us.
"They probably thinking we're plotting to leave them behind." I commented and that made Michael and Linc look over to where I was staring at the guys.
"Technically, we are." Michael answered and I gave him a side nod.
"True."
"We got half the country after us. We ain't making it to Panama or Utah." Lincoln voiced. "Not without help."
"Don't worry about that." Michael said. Lincoln sat up, putting his arm around me so that I wouldn't fall.
"How can you say that? We don't have money, clothes..."
"I already got all that." Michael butted in. I glanced between the both of them, not wanting to interrupt. Lincoln frowned.
"I thought the plan was Abruzzi's jet." Michael started playing with his shoelaces, looking around.
"Abruzzi's jet was Plan A." Lincoln raised his eyebrows.
"Then we got..."
"Everything we need." Michael finished, nodding.
