Hunter's POV:
He said he'd be back this week, but his week is almost over. He had called me saying he'd be late, but I didn't think it'd be this late. I lay face down on my bed, my phone on my nightstand, and listing to music.
He said he'd come back early for this, but I should've known better. I saw how many girls drool over him on the show. I saw how many of them he smile, hug, and kissed.
Ring ring ring.
I sat up straight and and grabbed my phone. The smile on my face quickly faltered as I saw that the text was from my mom and not from Yashua.
Mamá: Ya vente, hija. No creo que Yashua va a venir en tiempo para la fiesta.
I groaned and threw my phone somewhere on the floor. Good thing I have a case that doesn't let my phone break, no matter how hard I throw it.
It was my mom telling me to go downstairs so we can leave to my 16 birthday party. My parents had rented part of the park so all my family can come and we'll have a great big fiesta.
But I didn't want to party, not without Yashua. I know it sounds selfish, but he was my best friend for three years before we started dating. I didn't realize he liked me until he 'accidentally' kissed me a few months ago.
And now I haven't seen him in about a year. It's driving me crazy because I don't have anyone to talk to. I have other friends, but no one understands me better than Yashua.
But then again, would Yashua want me to suffer because of him? No, he'd want me to go downstairs and go to the party and have fun.
I sighed reluctantly, pushed back my hair, and stood up with legs that felt numb. I made my way to the mirror and smiled at the image in the reflection.
Yes, I know I'm pretty. Not in a cocky way, but sincerely. I won't be one of does girls that say they're ugly just to get attention.
I left my room and headed down stairs. My mom stood right next to the end of the stair case. She gave me a timid smile, that then faltered into a frown as she smacked my arm.
"Nos hisiste tarde." She grumbled and then turned towards the front door. Her hair was pinned back in a tight bun, not a single strand miss placed.
I know she means well, but that's just her character.
I followed her out the door and into the car to take me to my beloved 16 birthday party.
*skiping car ride because they are boring*
As I arrived, the smell of carne asada welcomed me, and also a few of my aunts. They showered me with as many kisses and hugs they could give me before they moved on to my parents.
I already felt dazed as I went to greet the rest of my family and friends. Thoughts of Yashua still lingered in the back of my mind, but they dissapred as my stomach growled.
"You hungry?" Asked my cousin. I nodded and we both got up to and stuffed our plates with as much food as we could find.
A few hours passed and the sky had turned dark blue. I laughed at my half drunk and half sober aunts who danced with each other to the beat of the song.
(Start playing the song above)
"Hunter?" My cousin said.
"Yeah?" I answered with a giggle at the start.
"Isn't that..." But she didn't get to finish talking because I heard music off in the distance. I turned and saw seven boys dressed in suits with instruments in their hands walking over to us.
As they grew closer, the music they played became more understandable.
"...hermoso cariño, hermoso cariño
Que Dios me ha mandado, ha ser destinado, nómas para mí..."It was Hermoso Cariño by Vicente Fernadez, one of the greatest songs of all time.
All my uncles and aunts and cousins had walked over to where I was sitting down in wonder of where all the music was coming from. Many of them pulled out their phones and started recording, but I just sat in awe of how beautiful this is.
The song continued as if forever, and I enjoyed every second of it. His strong voice, the beautiful lyrics, the joyful violins, the triumphant trumpets.
And then, out of the blue, the mariachis in the middle parted and Yashua stood there with a rose in his hand. He wasn't wearing anything to dressy, just some shorts and a black shirt. But I couldn't deny he looked better than ever.
I froze on the spot, everything kinda froze for a split second, until I felt my legs stand up and walk over to him. The song continued and was somewhat drowned in the sound of my family shouting, whistling, and clapping behind me.
As I reached Yashua, he started singing along with the mariachis, making my knees buckle.
"Del cielo ha llegado, y me ha colmado de dicha y amor..."
The song finish and by then Yashua had his hands intertwined with my hands, his lips intertwined with my lips, and so much happiness running through me that it was frighting.
"Miss me?" He asked as we pulled away.
"Shut up and kiss me you fool." I said which in between hiccups from crying and laughing at the same time.
And he did just that.

Sorry for not updating forever but hopefully this makes up for it!
I heard different groups of mariachis perform today, that's where I got the inspiration from.
And I'm sorry to say that requests are closed as of now. I'll finish writing the ones I got already but then I'm going to start writing my own.
HAPPY SUMMER BREAK EVERYONE!!
