he ignored her pokes. chair legs scrapped on the floor, screech. distance.
"hey," her eyebrows knitted together. "what's up with you? PMS-ing?"
"not in the mood for bicker, soo kyu."
"i told you to call me kyu."
as the rest of the class dispersed into lunch, he tried to go with them. a starfish blocked his way with the sardines.
"why are you ignoring me?"
"you're not my friend you know." he tried to move one of her arms away from the doorway - she refused.
"oh, so you're back to being salty fries."
"the what?!"
"answer my question!"
"go be a pest to the teachers."
"i become a pest to people when i care about them...!"
"well go take care of mr joon then! if anyone sees you two, i won't help you. pathetic."
he managed to wedge out of the door, but questioned the obnoxious laughter. seokjin stopped.
"what's so funny?"
soo kyu was wheezing now.
"yah! answer me!"
there were tears. "thanks for caring about me and my uncle."
"...wha- oh."
"yeah...!"
"uhm, sorry i guess? chai latte?"
and by that smile that he just noticed, he got hooked.
her glasses cutely slipping down her nose, pink tinge peeking above her scarf - he loved her eyes, how they had fresh tears.
he felt something beside him, against his left side of his chest. seokjin feels a bit green, sick. his heart hurts a bit, but his arms wound around her shoulders like it was normal.
"thanks for caring."
