12:15 p.m.

What a morning it was. Kelvin’s day was ruined, I could imagine, and I must say, I was very pleased because I know God was my vindicator. After all he had done to me and the pain I’ve suffered in his hands; I felt his punishment wasn’t over yet. I had vowed to avenge but oh, my; vengeance belongs to the Lord Most High.

I walked into his office after my usual afternoon stroll, and found him sitting before his laptop. I jumped onto his desk to take a peep of what he was doing. I was surprised to the bone. Kelvin was chatting on skype. I didn’t think he would come out of his despair so quickly. Anyway, I was there for a purpose and I had to accomplish it.a

‘kelvin’ I called.

He responded with his breath. The nerve of him!

“Could I use our laptop?” I politely asked like never before. I didn’t want to suffer his vile remark and false accusation of me being rude and disrespectful.

“No” he responded without looking at me.

“I need it urgently for something serious”

“And what’s that”

“To chat on facebook”

“No, it’s important”

“No.”

“And why not”

“Because I don’t want to”

I was very angry and couldn’t contain myself any longer. I had to react to his impudence. I took a deep sigh to calm down my nerves.

“Kelvin, I’m not in the mood to be bad today. I’m just enjoying the day and trying to turn a new life as you have always been preaching. I asked just one simple thing and you refused. You and I are aware that I hate to be refused anything. I get what I want and how I want it. I just want to confirm a dinner date. I won’t spend so much time” I said

“No!”

I couldn’t control myself any longer. I burst in anger and jumped on him, scratched his face with my well manicured claws. He screamed and toppled over his chair. The laptop fell over his desk.

“Ofori!” he screamed out my name and jumped on his feet. I stood by myself looking at him. I wanted to know what he would do. I was ready for him. He looked at me and I saw my three lines drawn by my perfect claws. “I’m going to kill you!”

He darted towards my direction. I swerved. He fell on the floor catching the air in his hands. I rolled my eyes, licked my blood-stained claw and walked gently out of the room. I have vowed not to be humiliated any longer by man or beast. I deserve to be respected and I will stand for my rights at all cost. This wouldn’t be the last.

What an afternoon.
