Chapter 31-

It was only a day later that I was waiting for Harry for our hometown date.

It seemed like ages that I was waiting for him. I stood outside of the big park about a mile from my house. I occasionally looked down at my outfit to make sure everything was perfect. I wore white jeans, a gray knitted sweater and a light pink scarf. I also pulled out my compact mirror to fix my curled hair and makeup.

Finally, a black Suburban pulled up and I watched as a head of brown curly hair jumped out of the car. I felt a huge smile spread across my face when he started to make his way towards me. I started running towards him and when I reached him he let me jump into his arms. He kissed me and I didn’t want to let go.

He put me down and brushed the hair away from my eyes, “Hi,” he smiled.

“Hi,” I grinned back.

“I missed you,” he said.

“I missed you too.”

“You look so beautiful,” he said kissing me again.

“Thanks, you’re not too bad yourself,” I winked.

He put his arm around my shoulder and I put my arm around his waist and we started to walk towards the park near my house.

“Where are we going?” he asked.

“I thought we would have a picnic in the park and just hang out and have the whole day to ourselves,” I suggested.

“Perfect!”

We walked down to the side of the park by the river and found a picnic basket waiting for us. We unfolded the red and white plaid blanket. He sat down and I sat between his legs with my head leaned up against his chest. He took my fingers and entwined them with his own.

“It’s such a beautiful day,” I said.

“And I get to spend it with the most beautiful girl on the planet,” Harry said. “Gosh, am I lucky.”

“Yeah right!” I giggled.

“It’s true,” he said. “Shall we eat?”

“We better before I die of starvation,” I said opening the picnic basket to see sandwiches, fruit, chips and chocolate chip cookies. I passed Harry a sandwich and grabbed one for myself. I examined what was in them finding tuna—my favorite.
