Phone Call

Sorry?

It had been a few days since that random 3am phone call. Needless to say I hung up immediately after the "Is your refrigerator running bit". That almost made that night worse. Luckily, after I ended that call my internet started working so I was able to finish a good handful of essays.

The incident seemed like one of those super out of the way occurrences that no one ever experiences but the idea has popped in their head at least once. Or maybe that's just me?

I was sitting at home alone twiddling with my phone when I got the message. It was from the same number as before. If I wasn't so bored I probably wouldn't have replied back. Little did I know how much my life would change after answering that message.

Unknown:
I'm sorry about the other day.

Meeperson:
Do you have a habit of prank calling at 3am?

Unknown:
No. It was just that it was 5pm here.

Meeperson:
Oh really?

Unknown:
Sorry?

Meeperson:
It's in the past. Just come up with something better than is your refrigerator running.

Unknown:
It wasn't my idea. I'm not that lame.

Meeperson:
Somehow I doubt that

There wasn't a response for a few minutes.

Unknown:
I'm anything but lame sweetheart.

Meeperson:
I'm anything but sweet

Unknown:
Obviously.

Meeperson:
Is that meant to be an insult? You do know sweet people get no where in life.

Unknown:
Only a seriously fucked up person would say something like that.

Meeperson:
What? Not to your taste stranger?

Unknown:
Actually it's very to my taste. Gotta love the bitter bite of reality.

Meeperson:
Very poetic.

Unknown:
Eh I try. So what is your name?

Meeperson:
I don't really see why that matters.

Unknown:
Honestly it doesn't.

This is weird right? Why am I still talking to this person?

Unknown:
I guess I'll just call you muffin then.

Meeperson:
Real original.

Unknown:
I think the irony is classic.

Meeperson:
I think it's lazy.

Unknown:
It's probably that too, muffin.

It was at that moment I realized something.

Meeperson:
Uhh...

Unknown:
Yes?

Meeperson:
You're messaging me.

Unknown:
Uhh yes I am. Thanks for letting me know.

Meeperson:

Unknown:
